Hotel Deville Prime Salvador

Previously a Sofitel, this is an attractive option for travelers looking for either convenient conference amenities or an upscale resort-style hotel near the beach. It's a fairly large hotel with lots of places for travelers to convene or unwind. The lobby has several homey seating areas with sofas and chairs where guests can hang out, and there are bars to kick back with a drink throughout the hotel. The grounds outside feature well-maintained green spaces with trees and even a lake area with a fountain and a bridge. With its extensive events space, this place draws many business guests attending conferences at the hotel. It's also popular with families, couples, and groups who want an attractive escape near the beach.

This hotel situated on a large, well-maintained property in Itapua and is conveniently located about a 15-minute drive from Salvador International Airport. Guests can walk to Praia Pedra do Sal in 15 minutes, though it's only five minutes away by car, and the Itapua Lighthouse is about 10 minutes away on foot. Popular Itapua Beach and the center of Itapua can be reached in five to 10 minutes by car. Salvador's city center and the Pelourinho historic district are about a 45-minute taxi or Uber ride from the hotel. 

Spacious rooms and suites are modern and tastefully decorated with tile floors, attractive accent walls, medium-toned wood furniture, and sharp throw pillows and bed runners atop white bed linens. All rooms have desks as well as air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, and free Wi-Fi, but no there are no coffeemakers in most units. Bathrooms are modern and sleek, with granite countertops, toiletries, hairdryers, and walk-in tiled showers. Suites feature separate living and dining areas, and the Presidential Suite is especially luxurious, with a fully stocked kitchen and a huge balcony overlooking the sea. It also has a whirlpool for two in the large bathroom. Rooms on floors six through eight have nice views of the sea from balconies. 

Other than a spa, this hotel offers most everything needed for a comfortable business or leisure stay. Sabores de Itapua Restaurant serves international and regional cuisine for all meals, including a free breakfast buffet. It's a lovely, open space with seating indoors and out on the terrace. Breakfast selections include fruits, cheeses, meats, yogurt, breads, cereals, and hot items. Guests also can dine at Saveiros, which offers drinks and light fare by the pool, plus live music on select nights. There's also a bar in the lobby, and room service is available around the clock.  The large outdoor pool features a bridge crossing over to an island in the center. Loungers line the stone pool deck all around, and umbrellas and tall trees provide shade. Kids have their own shallow area, and grown-ups can swim up to the bar for a drink. Other outdoor recreation options include tennis, soccer, and volleyball, and there's a billiard table indoors. Younger kids can play on the playground, which has swings and climbing equipment. A fitness center is quite tricked out with cardio and weight-training machines, plus free weights and exercise balls. The business center includes workstations and a computer for guests to use. Thirteen events spaces can accommodate groups of various sizes up to 1,300 people. A shop sells travel essentials, clothing, jewelry, and souvenirs. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, and parking is also free.
