Scene

Restored historic building with stylish central atrium and modern decor

Hotel Indigo is situated in an historic building from the 1800s, and features seven-stories with beautiful, ornate facade detailing. The hotel's interior was restored in spring 2014 and features a bright, fresh, and modern look and feel through polished floors, geometric designs, and chic contemporary furniture. Reception's marble floor and matching desk make a luxurious foil for modern pieces like drum-shaped pendant lights and molded chairs. The rising central atrium with mosaic-tiled floors has walls designed to look like an exterior facade (one is even accented in ivy). And eye-catching paper fish sculptures hang from the ceiling. The bar and restaurant have plenty of seating on long white tufted couches, purple armchairs, and gray swoop armchairs accented with nailhead trim. With business-minded amenities and three on-site meeting rooms, this hotel attracts business guests, but its proximity to sightseeing attractions makes it a hotspot for tourists, too.

Rooms

Stylish rooms with spacious bathrooms, free minibar drinks, HDTVs, and free Wi-Fi

The Hotel Indigo's 119 rooms and two suites are modern and pleasant with natural wood floors and a neutral color palette of whites, browns, and grays. While decor varies from room to room, most feature accent walls with large murals depicting area attractions, coordinating artwork, and faux wainscoting made to look like metalwork one might see in the city's nearby gardens. All rooms have HDTVs with cable channels, work desks with outlets, individual air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are also stocked with electric kettles (some upgraded rooms have coffeemakers) and minibars with free drinks like beer, soda, bottled water, and juice boxes. Spacious wardrobes include bathrobes, slippers, ironing facilities, and safes. Bathrooms tend to be spacious, fully tiled in gray with green accent tiling in showers and include toilets, bidets, stylish vessel sinks, and rainfall showerheads. Bathrooms come with hairdryers and toiletries. Rooms tend to be quiet thanks to double-glazed windows, though some guests find the atrium-facing rooms noisy.

Features

A courtyard restaurant, lobby bar, wellness center, free bikes, and fee for breakfast

Located in the central courtyard area, the hotel's chic and velvety lobby bar, Afisha Bar, and the stylish Wine&Water restaurant, serves all three meals -- somewhat of a rarity for hotels in St. Petersburg. While the restaurant has a contemporary menu with a nice wine list, it's unique in its wide selection of over 50 varieties of bottled water. An extensive breakfast buffet of hot and cold items -- including breads, fruits, pastries, and fish, plus made-to-order eggs -- is served for an extra fee. Room service is also available 24-hours a day.Hotel Indigo also has a small wellness center with massage treatments, two saunas separated by gender, a small but contemporary 24-hour gym, and a tiny indoor pool. Though clean and well-maintained, the gym and indoor pool are both situated in windowless rooms. In the gym you'll find a selection of modern cardio machines like ellipticals, treadmills, stair steppers and weight-lifting equipment. The small pool is open during limited hours and has an endless pool option for swimming laps. Business travelers have the option of three meeting rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 120 people. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, and computers, a fax machine, audiovisual equipment, and a printer/copier are available for guests' use. The hotel has a concierge, porter, and a 24-hour front desk. The hotel offers free access to rental bikes. Laundry and same-day dry-cleaning services are available as well.
