Sagres Time Apartamentos

This two-story beige and white property blends in with its surroundings of nondescript low-rise buildings, in a quiet and residential part of Sagres. The immediate area isn't particularly exciting, but it offers relatively easy access to the beach, restaurants, and bars. Guests enter the small lobby through glass doors flanked by palm trees. Inside, a leather sofa and a couple of chairs provide places for guests to sit, though it's merely a functional space and most guests spend their days out exploring this gorgeous region rather than crashing at the hotel all day. A small library off the reception area has books for guests to borrow, and walkways wind through the property and around the pool. It's a relaxed and well-maintained hotel appealing to nature lovers and those who come to the area for water sports and lots of beach time. The apartment-style units suit self-sufficient families and couples, as well as groups. 

This apartment-style property is located in a quiet residential area of Sagres. The closest is Baleeira Beach, about a six-minute walk from the hotel, while the town's main beach -- Praia da Mareta -- is a 12-minute walk away. The hotel also is surrounded by a few houses, a small playground, and a small cafe. A supermarket can be reached in 10 to 15 minutes on foot, and several bars and restaurants are an even shorter walk along the town's main drag -- check out Mum's for an always-busy local favorite. The area's best surfing beach -- Praia do Tunel -- is a five-minute drive away, while the lighthouse at Cabo de Sao Vicente and Sagres Fortress can both be reached in about 10 minutes or less by car. Sagres is a windy area, great for water sports such as kite-surfing, surfing, and eco-kart sailing. Faro Airport is about an hour and 20 minutes away. It's a three-hour drive to Lisbon. 

All rooms are apartments, available with one or two bedrooms. Decor is plain, with a white-and-beige color scheme highlighted by shades of red on bed toppers, lamps, and abstract artwork. Two-toned blonde wood and white furniture is clean-lined and modern. All apartments have fully equipped kitchens, with dishwashers, refrigerators, coffeemakers, toasters, ovens, stove tops, and microwaves, plus cooking and dining supplies. Countertops are granite, and sinks are stainless steel. The washers and dryers are an unexpected perk for a mid-range aparthotel in the Algarve region. Wi-Fi and safes are free in rooms, and all living rooms and bedrooms have flat-screen TVs. Sofa beds in living rooms provide additional sleeping space that make these units great for families and groups of friends. Bathrooms are modern, with above-counter sinks, shower/tub combos, bidets, magnifying mirrors, toiletries, and hairdryers. Second bathrooms in two-bedroom units have showers only. All apartments include terraces or balconies (some have two), and rooms on the ground floor have direct access to the pool. Some units are pet-friendly, and some are wheelchair accessible. Housekeeping is provided every day.

This property is designed for self-sufficient travelers, so it doesn't have much in the way of features, except an outdoor saltwater pool surrounded by a grassy lawn in the center of the property. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available on the lawn, and a few palm trees provide a little additional shade. Underground parking is free, and guests can use individual storage rooms for their bikes, surfboards, canoes, and the like. Guests can rent bicycles and barbecues at reception, as well as GoPro cameras. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
