Scene

Executive central -- a popular power lunch spot, and a full floor of meeting rooms

The Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel is a place for businesspeople
to see and be seen. Built in the former Public Market, it's a gorgeous building
located on a corner directly opposite the busy convention center. The walls are
decorated with historic photos of the market, pre-renovation, and the lobby retains
the ironwork and open atrium and skylights of the building’s former
incarnation. The hotel has a full floor of meeting rooms and a grand ballroom,
making it a popular convention site, as well. The bar, balcony restaurant, and
large lobby seating area can get quite crowded as a result. Morgan’s
Restaurant, on the balcony overlooking the open lobby, is a popular spot for
local power lunches. The Sheraton Grand
offers class, comfort, and predictability for executives and conventioneers.

Location

On a marina, across from the convention center, two blocks from the state capitol

The Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel is in downtown Sacramento,
directly across from the convention center, two blocks from the seat of government, the governor's mansion, and Capitol Park. The immediate area has plenty of lively restaurants, shops, bars, cafes, and a movie theater.
The Bing Maloney Golf Course is five miles away, and there are hiking and
biking trails for outdoor exercise. The hotel has a marina on-site for those
who arrive via water or enjoy a waterside stroll. The airport is a 25-minute drive away, and the hotel is easily reachable from the freeway.

Rooms

Clean and comfortable, with large work surfaces and video game consoles

Rooms at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel are clean and
comfortable, with typical higher-end chain decor and, especially on
higher floors, panoramic views of the city that are especially lovely at night.
Each room has a window seat from which to enjoy the city lights. Rooms have
wall-to-wall carpet, large desks with ergonomic chairs, and elegant, if small,
bathrooms with marble and granite countertops. Flat-screen TVs come
with premium channels, pay movies, and video game consoles, and there are coffeemakers and mini-fridges, but no minibars or safes. Traffic noise from the busy street
seeps into the rooms.

Features

Lots of meeting space, a grand ballroom, large gym, lap pool, and a martini bar

The Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel has a full floor of meeting and
conference rooms, a grand ballroom, and a fully equipped 24-hour business
center. The fitness center is large and flooded with natural light, with plenty
of weight and cardio machines with attached TVs; the small lap pool is ringed
by a tiny deck with eight sun beds. Morgan’s Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch,
and dinner, with an emphasis on farm-to-table California cuisine in an upscale
casual dining area overlooking the main lobby. Room service is available. The Public Market Bar has a serious martini menu, for indulging "Mad Men" impulses. Pets are provided beds and food bowls.
