Half Moon
Rose Hall

Half Moon is a luxury oceanfront property with two beautiful beaches outside of Montego Bay. Its 388 air-conditioned rooms are a mix of modern and traditionally-decorated units with living areas, extensive minibars, and flat-screen TVs. Private balconies have ocean, pool, or garden views, and multi-bedroom villas include perks like cooks and butlers. This sprawling resort has tons of amenities including a huge spa, three tasty -- yet pricy -- restaurants, multiple pools, free tennis courts, a kids' club, and a massive gym. At this price point, the hotel has surprising few freebies, and most guests opt for all-inclusive rates as pay-as-you-go prices are sky high. For a more family-friendly oceanfront all-inclusive that includes extras like an adventure park, its worth pricing out Melia Braco Village instead.

Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall
Rose Hall Road

Situated along Jamaica’s resort-heavy northwest shore, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall is one half of a luxury two-resort beachfront Hyatt compound. Along with its sister property, Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, the two collectively offer excellent communal amenities, including nearly a dozen restaurants, two large pools, and an oceanfront spa. The quiet, elegant vibe is what most guests would expect of a luxury adult-only Jamaican resort. Each of its 234 rooms features a spacious floor plan and bright, modern decor. Amenities include fully-stocked minibars, free Wi-Fi, luxurious marble bathrooms, butlers in some rooms, and private balconies or terraces -- many with ocean views. For a luxury property, though, the small, man-made beach is surprisingly rough and rocky. The adjacent Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall offers identical amenities in a more affordable, kid-friendly package.

Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall
Rose Hall Road, A1

Along with its sister hotel -- the adjacent Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall -- the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall is one-half of a large, two-resort beachfront complex. This hotel features an extensive list of amenities -- including a large, clean pool, eight restaurants, and a full-service spa with a steam room and sauna -- in a family-friendly, all-inclusive package. The 387 rooms are a blend of modern and more traditional units, and include free Wi-Fi, large flat-screen TVs, daily-stocked minibars, and furnished balconies or terraces -- many with ocean views. Unfortunately, the dated rooms in the older wing and mediocre food make the experience here a bit underwhelming. Check rates at the neighboring Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall for a quieter, more exclusive, adult-only alternative.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites
Rose Hall Main Road

This 319-room, mid-range all-inclusive property is the second-best, and family-friendliest, of the three Iberostar resorts on Montego Bay’ northern shore. The rooms are large enough to share with the kids, and the resort offers an awesome kids' club with a water park, as well as a lazy river and an activities pool. Numerous features range from an expansive spa and Pilates studio to a casino and nightclub. All-inclusive rates cover meals and drinks at the property's six restaurants and six bars -- but the reservation process for the a la carte dining options is a pain.

Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa
Rose Hall Rd

The four-pearl Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa is situated on Jamaica’s resort-heavy north shore, a 15-minute drive from Montego Bay's Hip Strip. This all-inclusive hotel offers an excellent list of amenities, including an immaculate private beach, a spa, and plenty of adult- and kid-friendly features. However, the on-site Sugar Mill Falls Water Park -- Jamaica’s largest -- distinguishes the Hilton from other area resorts. The 488 rooms are sharp and contemporary, with large flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and private balconies. The hotel’s only drawback may be the lack of attractions within walking distance. However, a shuttle provides free transportation to Rose Hall Plantation House and other destinations. The nearby Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall is a similarly priced, four-pearl resort with even more dining and nightlife amenities.

Iberostar Grand Rose Hall
Rose Hall Main Road, Branch Developments, Little River

The most upscale of the three Iberostar resorts in Montego Bay, the 295-room Iberostar Grand Rose Hall is an adults-only all-inclusive resort offering a quality beachfront getaway. This hotel is mores impressive than its neighbors -- Iberostar Rose Hall Beach and Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites -- in terms of decor, food, and features, though guests do get access to their facilities. Suites here are well-outfitted with whirlpool tubs, separate showers, furnished terraces, and daily restocked minibars, but decor is outdated and in need of a refresh. The butler service and swim-up suite options are pros nonetheless. Quality resort features include a pleasant lounger-filled beach, huge infinity-edge pool with a swim-up bar and ocean views, full-service spa with hydrotherapy, daytime activities, and evening shows. Restaurants include buffet, Italian, and Japanese cuisines, but past guests have complained of the reservation system. All meals, snacks, and drinks, including top-shelf liquor, are part of the rate. For a romantic resort with more impressive rooms and features, consider the all-inclusive Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay.

Iberostar Rose Hall Beach
Branch Developments Rose Hall Main Road, Little River

The least expensive of Montego Bay’s Iberostar trio, this upbeat, and at times rowdy, all-inclusive mega-resort features tons of amenities -- four restaurants, four bars, water sports, a spa, a theater, a casino, a nightclub, and a kids' club -- all for seriously affordable rates. The rooms may be small, the decor may be outdated, and the grounds may be packed to the brim at times, but it's one of the best values on the island.
