Scene

Youth hostel with an energetic vibe and a popular bar

The
Yellow strives for a party-like atmosphere for the benefit of its young,
international clientele. Even the staff at the hotel is young, and it’s a sort of hip backpacker epicenter for the city. Guests staying at other hostels come to dance at the lively bar and meet other young travelers. The bar hosts theme nights (like their past Tupac Party), DJs, and
bands, as well as burlesque shows. The vibe here is straight-up college dorm; there’s
an info-board with a schedule of events and a communal living room with a big
black couch and a few bean bag chairs where guests can sit and watch TV. The
hotel has a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there’s also an industrial-chic common kitchen with a microwave, toaster, and kettle where guests can prepare
their own food.

Location

In the center of Rome, a 10-minute walk from Termini Station

The Yellow's surrounding streets are loaded with other hotels, restaurants, and bars. It’s an eight-minute walk from Termini Station,
which has a direct, 45-minute connection to Fiumicino Airport via the Air Terminal, which can also be reached in around a 40-minute drive. Ciampino Airport is about 25 minutes by car. The hostel is a 12-minute walk from Piazza Repubblica, where guests can see the Basilica of Santa
Maria degli Angeli built inside the Baths of Diocletian. Other sights, like Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and the Colosseum require a longer 30-minute walk (or around 15 minutes via public transportation). For treks around the city, the hostel is conveniently located five minutes' walk from Castro Pretorio, a stop for both the metro and bus routes.

Rooms

Simple dorms with bunk beds and shared bathrooms

The Yellow offers mixed and female-only dorms with as
few as four beds. Rooms have minimal, vaguely industrial-style decor in white, black, and gray, and some have en suite bathrooms with separate toilets and showers.
Simple metal bunk beds with storage lockers underneath are in some rooms while
others have unstacked beds available. Bed linens are included in room
rates, but towels are an extra fee. Superior Rooms have air-conditioning while others have tall, floor fans. A hallway with seats, mirrors, and hairdryers is available for prepping. Private
rooms for one or two guests are available on either the hostel or "hotel" side of the property, and they can be equipped with mini-fridges, free Wi-Fi, and en-suite bathrooms.

Features

Fun bar, tours and activities, and art-exchange program

The Yellow has a popular dance bar on-site, and
pub-crawls are offered for a fee by the hostel (in a
vehicle equipped with a stripper pole). There’s
a common kitchen and a restaurant on-site serving breakfast (for a fee), lunch, and dinner until late night with tables set up next to the sidewalk. Free iPad rentals are available for
30-minutes a day, and reception is open 24/7. Bike rentals are available, and there's a library space for relaxing with a book. The hotel has an art-exchange
program where musicians and other artists can trade their services for a bed, and the
hotel is social media friendly, making planning and connecting easy.
