1 of the buildings, Via della Giuliana, is located quite a distance from public transportation
Many guests find Roman Holidays very difficult to find, and it's no wonder -- the rooms are housed in two separate buildings (a five-minute walk apart) which are basically apartment buildings. The front desk (check-in) is only open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and once guests are in the inn, they're pretty much left on their own. Roman Holidays is advertised as a B&B, but it feels like more of a pensione, with small, basic rooms and no common areas or amenities (even breakfast is served at an off-site local bakery). Coming back at night can feel more like going into someone's random apartment than a hotel (guests even have to turn on the hallway/stairway lights, since they're not left on all the time). It's a clean, solid option for budget travelers and for those who need a bed at night and little more. But guests looking for a true hotel or B&B shuould look elsewhere.
Location
Within walking distance to the Vatican and to public transportation
The Roman Holidays is located in Prati neighborhood, a busy shopping area with a strong local flavor. It is well connected to the rest of the city via subway, which is located less than a 10-minute walk from one of the two buildings where guest rooms are located, the Bu Meliana building (however, it is quite a hike from the other, the Via della Giuliana building). Vatican City and the Vatican Museums are within walking distance, as is Castel Sant’Angelo. The distances shown below are calculated departing from the Bu Meliana building:- 35-minute drive to Ciampino Airport
