The upper-middle-range, six-room Hotel Trevi Collection is housed in a historic 16th century mansion, but its interiors have a modern, vibrant feel. Rooms have wood floors, flat-screen TVs, and clean-lined decor in shades of blacks, browns, and grays; even the standard rooms are large (particularly by European standards). Bathrooms are sleek, with double sinks, bidets, and either impressive walk-in showers or appealing shower/tub combos. (Though we did spot some water stains and rust.) There's no fitness center, but there is a nice, tranquil relaxation area with Jacuzzi tub. Free Wi-Fi and free breakfast add value, and the location near the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps is excellent.

Hotel Trevi is located in the Trevi neighborhood, named as such for its proximity to the Trevi Fountain (the hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from it). It's central location in the historic heart of Rome is accessible to many other tourist sights as well, including the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps. It is also within walking distance of numerous restaurants, and it's a short drive to Termini train station.- 30-minute drive to Rome Ciampino International Airport
