The 229-room Hotel Rome Pisana is a stylish, mid-range, contemporary hotel in western Rome with spacious, colorful rooms and comfortable beds. There’s no shortage of common spaces, including two modern restaurants and a big lobby with plenty of seating space. With several meeting rooms and a location that’s only a 20-minute drive from the airport, it’s a great option for business travelers and those who need to catch an early flight, but it’s a bit far from central Rome. Prices are almost unbeatable, especially for the quality rooms and free Wi-Fi.
Scene
Modern and chic airport hotel
The atmosphere throughout the hotel is reminiscent of a stylish airport in the swinging ‘60s, which seems appropriate given the names of the common spaces. The Terminal restaurant is chic and sophisticated, its taupe tables topped with red fabric liners. The lobby and other common spaces are filled with lovely dark wood floors, white and orange pod chairs, and some artsy photographs. Even the meeting rooms are nice looking, with smart black and white color schemes. Many of the guests are tourists who don't mind staying outside of Rome to save money, or business travelers.
Location
In western Rome, close to the airport
The hotel is surrounded by greenery and located in Pisa, a commercial and residential area on the west side of Rome, with large condominiums and villas nearby. It’s about a 20-minute ride from the Fiumicino airport and 15 minutes from the Fiera di Roma exhibition center. The hotel runs a limited shuttle service to the nearest metro stop, but the hotel is otherwise not very convenient to the city center, and it can take an hour via public transportation to get to the Trevi Fountain. Vatican City is a bit easier to get to, and is about 30 minutes by bus. Parking at the hotel is free.
Rooms
Spacious and stylish rooms with colorful decor
The 229 air-conditioned rooms are contemporary and colorful, with lime green and crimson accent walls, sculptural furniture, and plush beds with silver dotted throws. Different size circular mirrors hang on the walls. Black and white bathrooms are spacious and sleek with square sinks and large glass-walled stall showers. Executive rooms have large soaking tubs. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, minibars, tea- and coffee-making facilities, safes, and hair dryers. Views look over the parking lot or green neighborhood streets. Wi-Fi is free.
Features
Two restaurants, buffet breakfast, and meeting rooms
The hotel serves a well-stocked buffet breakfast (included with some packages) and also lunch and snacks in The Hub Bar, while The Terminal serves more formal lunches and dinners. There's a full bar for cocktails and wine. For business travelers, there are five meeting rooms and a small business area with two computers. Dry cleaning and laundry services are available and Wi-Fi is free. The hotel runs a limited shuttle service to the nearest metro stop.
