Positioned on a main road and across the street from the Piazza di Porta Maggione, heavy traffic passes throughout the day and the night. The hotel meets all the standard requirements for a three-pearl ranking, and simple but functional rooms range from small (single or doubles), to spacious (triples).

Scene

Budget-savvy travelers, archeologists and insomniacs

The hotel is located right by the Porta Maggione Wall, built circa 1st Century B.C., and the lobby decor draws inspiration from this setting. High ceilings, white marble floors and a sweeping staircase provide a backdrop for oversized red leather couches and ancient Roman artifacts. The area is broken into subsets, and the quirky layout reveals an alcove fitted with a TV, a mirrored ceiling and vending machines. There are two restaurants and two bars, with one bar set in the rooftop garden which is open during spring and summer. The lobby has a boutique convenience store with basic sundries and random fashion accessories. A multilingual staff is readily on hand to assist with taxis, tours and other recreation. The hotel lobby is more of a departure lounge than it is a place to spend extended social time.Situated at the junction of several main roads, outside noise can be disruptive due to passing traffic.
