Bottom Line

The upper-middle-range Hotel Mancino
12 is a boutique hotel in Rome's historic city center, within walking distance of many top tourist sites like the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. Completely
refurbished and reopened in 2012, the 14-room property has a sleek, modern
design, and attracts tourists and couples with its romantic rooms and
central location. There’s no restaurant or bar on-site, but a breakfast is
served in the morning for a fee. The chic rooms have flat-screen TVs, free
Wi-Fi, and minibars, plus some have separate living rooms and
lovely furnished patios. While the rooms are pleasant, they lack coffee- and tea-making facilities. Travelers seeking something with more on-site amenities might want to consider Leon’s Place Hotel, which offers free breakfast, a spa,
cafe, and a fitness center.

Scene

Intimate, classy hotel with elegant interiors drawing tourists -- mainly couples

Set within a tan stone building
with black shutters, the Hotel Mancino 12 is an elegant hotel that isn’t
completely noticeable from the outside. After 10 years of closure, the hotel
underwent a renovation and reopened in 2012 as a classy and romantic hotel that
attracts tourists, especially couples. As for the interior, it’s sleek and
contemporary with dark wooden floors, arched entryways, and a classy gray and
black color scheme. The breakfast room -- which doubles as the lobby -- has red
velour loveseats and footstools, dark gray tables, and bold abstract art pieces
on the walls. Throughout, this property has a stark and vivid style.

Location

Central location within walking distance of transportation and dining options

Hotel Mancino 12 is located on a narrow cobbled street, a minutes’ walk to Via del Corso and Piazza Venezia, the main street and plaza of the historic city center. Several top tourist sites are within walking distance, including the Trevi Fountain (six minutes), the Pantheon (eight minutes), Piazza Navona (13 minutes), the Spanish Steps (15 minutes), and the Colosseum (15 minutes). As for public transportation, there’s a bus stop a minutes’ walk away, a tram stop that's five minutes away on foot, and a metro station that's a 15-minute walk away. There’s a number of restaurants and bars on surrounding streets. Termini, Rome's main train station, is an eight-minute drive (or 11 minutes by bus) from the hotel, while Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is a 35-minute drive away.

Rooms

Elegant rooms with flat-screen TVs and minibars; some have patios or separate living rooms

The hotel's 14 rooms and
suites are elegant and sophisticated, with a neutral color
scheme that includes gray and black striped walls, sleek black furniture, light gray
curtains, and little tub chairs. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars, air-conditioning, and safes,
but they lack coffee- and tea-making facilities. Some rooms have small separate
living room spaces with pearl couches or lovely patios furnished with green iron chairs
and tables. Bathrooms have dark gray tiling, spacious sinks, showers with rainfall
showerheads, and bidets. Hairdryers and toiletries are provided.

Features

Breakfast buffet, private limousine service, and free Wi-Fi

This small boutique hotel offers few
amenities, with no on-site restaurant or bar. A breakfast
buffet is served in the mornings in a pleasant dining area that doubles as the lobby, but it’s not included in the room rates. The
hotel offers a private limousine service for a fee. And free Wi-Fi is available
throughout the hotel.
