Parioli is one of Rome's wealthiest residential neighborhoods, located to the north of the bustling, tourist-crowded city center. It's far from the major sights; instead, visitors here will find elegant residences and some of Rome's best dining and nightlife.
Many people consider staying here during their second or third visits to Rome, after seeing the Colosseum and other main, central attractions. Be prepared to take plenty of taxis or stay in the area: Rome's public transportation system is notoriously inadequate.
