This small hotel is in a residential neighborhood outside central Rome, close to the city's major clinics and hospitals. It's geared toward unfussy budget travelers who don’t mind taking public transportation to visit the city's major sights. It does not have a fitness room or a pool, but the sleek red bar, while a little out of character, is a nice touch.
Scene
Simple and basic, but with a bright-red bar
The simple white facade with its metal double doors gives a pretty good indication of what’s inside. This is a basic hotel with a modest decor. The one surprise is the red lacquer lobby bar and space-age pod stools, which stand out from the more dated surroundings. The breakfast room on the lower level is large but somewhat institutional looking.
Location
In a residential area close to public transportation
The Hotel Club House is in a quiet area in the north of Rome. There's a few restaurants nearby, and the hotel is close to the large Parco Urbano del Pineto. The Cornelia metro stop is a five-minute walk from the hotel, and it’s about 25 minutes to Vatican City and about 30 minutes to the historic center by public transportation. There's also a bus stop about 330 feet from the hotel.
Rooms
Simple rooms with small balconies
The 108 air-conditioned rooms have typical mid-range amenities, but the decor is a mixed bag. Some rooms, which look as if they’ve undergone a refresh, have bright carpeting and plain, modern wooden furniture. Other rooms have dated red carpeting, furniture in the faux-provincial style, and green and gold fabric on the headboard and curtains. Double beds are two singles pushed together, which is common for hotels throughout Italy. All rooms have small balconies and come with flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, and hairdryers. Basic bathrooms have modern but small tubs with showers.
Features
Lobby bar, Internet corner, reading room
The hotel has a foyer with a reading room and Internet corner with a desktop computer, and a bright lobby bar. Private parking is available nearby for a fee. Laundry and ironing services are also available for an additional charge.
