Bottom Line

As the name suggests, this three pearl hotel is decorated in an Art Deco style. Its location in the center of Rome puts it within a 20-minute walk of some of the city's most famous attractions, including the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain, and its a short walk from the Termini railway station. Comfortable rooms have charming Art Deco decor and modern necessities, including flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges -- though Single Rooms are small and twin beds are pushed together to make a double bed. A free, but basic, breakfast buffet is served in Il Pavone, the on-site restaurant, which serves modern takes on traditional cuisine at lunch and dinner.

Scene

Mid-sized tourist hotel with Art Deco styling

Both the rooms and common areas at the Hotel Artdeco have an Art Deco theme. The small lobby has patterned marble floors, 1930s-style patterned chairs and sofas, and a stained-glass Tiffany window. There are a few plants and old furniture pieces along with brochures and newspapers for guests, most of whom are tourists. Though it's kept clean, there's some minor wear and tear in this older hotel.

Location

Situated in the city center near Termini Station

Located in the center of Rome,
the hotel is in a busy and popular area filled with restaurants, bars,
cafes, and many different kinds of shops. It’s within walking distance of some of Rome’s most famous attractions. The Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore,
the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and the Colosseum are all under 20
minutes away. It is a 10-minute walk from the Termini Train Station, making it
a convenient spot for guests wanting to rely on public transportation to get around town. The airport is a half-hour drive or 45-minute train ride away.

Rooms

Elegant Art Deco rooms with stylish furniture and modern amenities

The 49 rooms at the Artdeco are
spacious and comfortable and feature Art Deco furniture and artwork. Many of the furniture pieces have interesting
art elements such as geometric patterns in headboards, and some rooms have Tiffany-style lamps. The beds have white bedding with colored runners, but some rooms have two twins pushed together to form a single bed. All rooms come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and safes. Single Rooms are definitely on the cramped side.

Features

Free buffet breakfast in on-site modern Italian restaurant, plus computer with printer and free Wi-Fi.

A free continental breakfast
of cereal, yogurt, eggs, meats, fresh
pastries, juice, and coffee is served daily in Il Pavone, the on-site restaurant that also serves modern Italian cuisine at lunch and dinner. Past guests have reported that the breakfast is nothing special. There's also a meeting room for guest use and a computer with a printer in the lobby. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
