Accademia Hotel

Hotel Accademia is inside an attractive salmon-colored building with white cornerstones and black shutters. Inside, the hotel is a juxtaposition of newly remodeled areas and spaces that could use a refresh. The lobby feels a bit dated with wood-paneled walls and dark, tufted leather furniture. Some hallways are painted a modern light sage color and decorated with stylish framed art. Four elevators are available to carry guests up to their rooms. There's a small outdoor terrace with potted plants and a few chairs for guests to sit and take in the fresh air. Breakfast is served in a modern space with sleek furnishings and creative lighting that includes stretch lamps and wire-cage pendant lights.

The hotel is located less than 400 feet from Trevi Fountain, in a tourist-heavy part of the city with shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. It’s a six-minute walk to the nearest metro station making the rest of the city easily accessible. The Colosseum is a 20-minute walk, and it’s a 20-minute drive to Vatican City, or 30-minute ride on public transportation. Both Ciampino Airport and Leonardo da Vinci Airport are within a 40-minute drive.

Rooms at Accademia Hotel vary in decor; some have white walls and light wooden furnishings and some have dark bedding and dark wooden furnishings. All rooms are carpeted and equipped with minibars, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, and coffee/tea facilities. Bathrooms vary in style and are furnished with C.O. Bigelow toiletries. More spacious Club Rooms are available. These have marble bathrooms furnished with whirlpool tubs. Modern decor like low oak beds with trendy floral headboards looks nicer than the furniture in the Standard Rooms. Some Standard Rooms are small, and outside noise can be an issue in rooms on lower floors.

The hotel has limited features, as the location is really the draw here. A free breakfast buffet includes cereal, fruit, cold cuts, and cheese. There is a small terrace with potted plants and some chairs where guests can relax outside, and a meeting room accommodates up to 20 guests for private events. The hotel offers a hot-spot mobile router for up to five devices to stay connected in Rome. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Small pets are allowed here for no additional cost.
