Bottom Line

The 380-room Princess Andriana Resort and Spa is a quiet and modern beach sanctum for families and couples with three big pools. There is lots of entertainment for kids including archery, tennis, a playground, mini golf, and arcade room. There is also a modern spa, two restaurants and terrace snack bar, and live music in the evenings. Rooms are stylish and serene; some have balconies and private pools. The hotel is slightly removed from Rhodes City (and some guests complain, far from the airport) so travelers looking for a livelier beach experience might want to consider Hotel Rodos Palladium.

Scene

Luxury family-friendly resort overlooking the Kiotari Beach

Scene Princess Andriana Resort & Spa

The Hatzilazarou Family -- self-described as obsessed with hospitality -- built the Princess Andriana Resort and Spa that overlooks the Kiotari beach in 2011 to impress their primary clientele: couples and families. The elegant, spacious lobby has a large revolving door and white pillars made of ornate butterflies that light up at night, providing an elegant atmosphere for the lobby bar, which includes modern grey couches with white piping. The atmosphere overall is refined and stylish, but definitely family-friendly too.

Location

In the town of Lardos on the southeast side of Rhodes Island

Positioned on the southeast side of Rhodes Island in Lardos, the Princess Andriana Resort is over an hour from the town of Rhodes, where travelers can take historical walking tours and/or explore ancient ruins like the Acropolis of Rhodes and the Palace of Grand Master of Knights. The airport is an hour away. In walking distance from the hotel are glass-bottom boat rides, sailing, and water skiing. Bike and water sports rentals are on-site. The Valley of Butterflies (an hour by car) is a beautiful nature walk, filled with butterflies.

Rooms

Chic monochromatic rooms with modern extras, flat-screen TVs, and private pools

Rooms Princess Andriana Resort & Spa

There is a variety of different rooms to choose from at the Princess Andriana Resort -- Deluxe, Honeymoon, Family, and Suites -- all of which are decorated with gray and white modern furnishings with kettles, writing desks, flat-screen TVs, and balconies or terraces. Guests recommend getting rooms with views of the pool and mountainside. Some rooms have living rooms and terraces with lounge chairs, private plunge pools, and chic details like bathrobes and flat-screen TVs mounted in mirrors. Bathrooms are bright with white modern fixtures. Other rooms have shared access to a lazy river pool that runs along the hotel.

Features

Three modern pools, a luxury spa, and on-site buffet dining

Features Princess Andriana Resort & Spa

The resort-sized pool -- with its dark shades of blue to indicate the different water depths -- sits at the center of the Princess Andriana Resort and features a white bridge with two modern children's pools -- one of which has a stylish white tent for shade. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas -- including cushioned chic lounge beds on a curved brown, wooden ledge. The Euphoria spa is modern, decorated with a sauna/steam room, Hamam, shower room, and stylish indoor pool that features recessed circular lights and artificial metal trees.

There is a vast amount of family-friendly activities on-site including two archery lanes, a mountainside amphitheater with eight rows of seats, two modern tennis courts (one with artificial grass), a grassy mini golf course with trees, a water sports rental shack on the beach, and arcade room with two air hockey tables and a mini pool table.
