Built in 1976, the Olympic Palace Resort Hotel has undergone renovations from 2009-2018. The property has modern furnishings and stylish designs, including the stone spiral staircase in the spacious lobby, which has marble floors and an avant-garde metal light fixture. The hotel building -- which looks from the outside like a docked cruise ship -- faces Ixia beach and the busy Ialisou road, which follows the scenic coast to the northern tip of Rhodes Island. There is also a sun deck with stylish white umbrellas, chairs, and a beach cabana that all face the blue seas.

The Greek Island of Rhodes (aka Rodos) is the historic capital of the Dodecanese islands. The City of Rhodes, with amazing medieval ruins, is a world heritage site and accessible by car or cab from the hotel in nine minutes. Wetsuits and water sports are available from the hotel’s quaint wooden rental shop -- which has a beachy terrace with seating. Cultural sights like the Acropolis of Lindos (an hour away) and the Grand Master of Knights Palace (12 minutes away) can be reached by car. The airport is 17 minutes away. Along the main drag are restaurants, bars, and other outdoor activities like glass-bottom boat rides.
