Scene
Greek beachside hotel with an Italian atmosphere
This hotel offers a Greek vacation in walking distance to the beach, with some Italian charm. The hotel advertises exclusively with an Italian travel agency, and is designed with Italian signage. Pathways lead through gardens of blooming hibiscus to a small stone church, a rather worn tennis court, and a well-maintained soccer field. The lagoon-shaped pool has a fountain, and is surrounded by yellow and blue umbrellas and blue lounge chairs. The lobby -- with recessed blue ceiling lights and a pitched wooden roof -- is modestly decorated with traditional baby-blue and brown chairs.
Location
On the shingle shores of Kolymbia, 35 minutes from Rhodes
The Myrina Beach Hotel, on the eastside of Rhodes, is in walking distance to the beaches of Kolymbia, a quaint seaside area near shops, clubs, and the Monastery Tsambika. There’s a supermarket and souvenir shop directly across from the hotel. Rhodes, the Greek medieval city, is about 35 minutes away by car. There, travelers can explore the Palace of Grand Master of Knights, and the ancient Olympic stadium. Lindos, with the Church of the Panagia, is about 30 minutes away by car. Hiking is less than 10 minutes away by car at Panagia Tsampika Psili. The airport is a about a 50-minute car ride away.
Rooms
Dated and modern rooms for families with lovely sea views
Outdoor hallways with pine-wood ceilings lead to rooms that are either modern or more dated in style. All rooms have terraces or balconies, safes, mini-fridges, and TVs with Italian programming. Some rooms have rather outdated furnishings like old tube TVs. Superior Plus Rooms (which were renovated in 2012 and have access to an elevator) have more modern furniture and decorations, colorful details, wooden ceilings, and wonderful sea views from the fourth floor.

Children's entertainment, casual on-site dining, and close beach access

The sandy beach, accessible by a wooden walkway, is dotted with yellow and blue umbrellas and lounge chairs. An outdoor shower and changing rooms are also on the beach.
