Scene

Peaceful, beachside resort

The Lindos Memories resort looks like a palace at night, beautifully landscaped and lit, built in a grand scale from native stone and wood, with arches opening onto exquisite Mediterranean views. The lobby features beautiful marble floors side-by-side with rustic pebble mosaics and sculpture niches. There are passageways and squares that make the hotel feel like a small island town. With quality service and gorgeous scenery, this resort has a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere that earns many repeat guests.

Location

On the beach, at sea level, near historic Lindos

The Lindos Memories resort is a 30-mile drive from the Rhodes Airport, in a secluded area on a gorgeous private beach. The historic village of Lindos is less than a mile down the road, or 10 minutes by car. There is a local bus stop near the front gate for travel around the island, but a rental car is advisable for serious sightseeing. Unlike many hotels in the Lindos area, the resort is located at sea level, just a few steps off the beach, making it more accessible for those with mobility issues.

Rooms

Rooms with stunning private balconies, luxe bathrooms, and simple spotless living areas

Rooms at the Lindos Memories resort are immaculate and spare, with plenty of space. The decor is basic and minimal, predominately white, and feels considerably plainer than the resort's common areas, especially the generic-looking couches, but the furnished balconies, many with panoramic sea views, are a lovely touch. Cliff facing rooms get evening sun. Upon check in, a welcome gift of fruit and wine is in each room. Bathrooms, done in local stone, are large and luxurious, and feature inviting soaking tubs.

Features

Lovely beach, full service spa, mini-market, fitness center, and children's pool

The Lindos Memories resort offers a multitude of opportunities for relaxation, from the large pool to the jewel of a private beach, to the destination spa with its full menu of bodywork, beauty treatments, aroma- and hydrotherapy. There is a mini-market on site for forgotten items (but no liquor), and a small fitness center with a rowing machine and a couple of stationery bikes. Kids will enjoy the sizable children's pool and playground, and junior menus are available in the restaurants. Evening entertainment is relaxed, with live piano music in the bar, and specialty theme nights in the dining rooms. The Navarone restaurant serves a decadent American breakfast and an elegant dinner with views of the beach from dining room and outdoor patio. The Lindia Tavern also has a beachfront view, with an open kitchen and a lovely shaded patio with cloth-covered tables. The Apollo Bar is classic, with a pretty wood bar, blue velvet chairs, and marble floors with pebble mosaic borders. In the evenings, live piano music accompanies an excellent cocktail selection. The Arabian Nights-inspired spa offers a full menu of massage and beauty treatments. The outdoor scene is equally fantastic: guests can walk directly from the pool down a few stone steps to the small but perfect sandy beach, settle into a sunbed under a straw umbrella, and order a fresh juice or afternoon cocktail from one of the waiters.
