Slightly removed location
Some rooms have outdated furnishings and are in minor disrepair
The 462-room, mid-range Lindos Imperial lives up to its name with regal decorations and a grand pool area with water park, slides, and a swim-up bar; modern on-site dining and cocktails; sea views from some rooms and grounds; 24-hour front desk service; a modern spa and fitness center; and a private walkway to the beach. Guest rooms tend to be clean and modern, with neutral tones accented with grays and greens, and sea views -- but some rooms have outdated decor or are in slight disrepair. Apartment-size suites are suitable for families or couples, and include private pools. The hotel is removed from the nightlife scene (a plus for those seeking quiet). The Princess Andriana Resort and Spa also offers free Wi-Fi, but it is reportedly a bit slow.
Scene
Beach hotel with regal touches and family-friendly pools
The Lindos Imperial mixes regal decorations with some classic furnishings. The lobby is luxurious with a revolving door, marble tile floors, chandeliers, sleek velvet sofas, and massage chairs (for a fee). Some hallways lack decoration and are not up to par with the lobby, despite chic neoclassical architecture and atrium ceilings. Glass elevators have views of the property’s gardens, while walkways overlook the mountains, sea, and large pool area. A lively family atmosphere pervades, particularly around the popular pools. There’s an activities pool with a volleyball net, mountain views, multiple large slides, and an oversized chessboard on the deck. The main pool -- with a column grotto area -- includes an island, bridges, and metal lounge chairs with beige cushions. The relax pool has a bridge to the bar patio, and wicker umbrellas and lounge chairs on the deck.
Location
In an old Kiotari fishing village, a short walk to the beach
The Lindos Imperial Resort is in a rather remote location in an old Kiotari fishing village on the east side of Rhodes island, about one hour from Rhodes International Airport. The town of Lindos -- which offers beautiful views from the Acropolis of Lindos, shopping, restaurants, and a lively night scene -- is about a half-hour away by car. The ancient town of Rhodes, home to medieval ruins like the Grand Master of Knights Palace and the Archaeological Museum, is about 45 minutes by car. The beach is five minutes on foot.
Rooms
Modern Family Rooms and Suites with flat-screen TVs and sea views
The hotel offers Double, Twin, Family, Superior, Suite and Double Beachfront rooms with balconies or terraces that have views of the garden, pool, or sea (some with partial sea views). Rooms are modern with light wood furniture, safes, mini-fridges, high-end toiletries, flat-screen TVs, and pops of light green decor. Guests may want to consider upgrading to rooms with sea views, which are especially lovely. Some rooms have decor in minor disrepair. Family rooms with extra beds are available, and Suites offer private pools and a furnished terrace with wooden lounge chairs.
Features
Outdoor dining, lovely spa, and all-inclusive option for lots of activities
There are four restaurants and three bars on-site. All are modern with a casual feel, appealing to couples and families. La Careta restaurant serves Greek cuisine on a weathered wood deck with iron patio chairs. The Taverna is stylish with a white woven rooftop, sea views, and an ice cream selection. The Relax Pool Bar has a tiled rooftop with wicker bar stools. The Milanese restaurant serves Italian dishes, and gets fresh air through large archways by the pool, where there’s a swim-up grotto area. The main bar is decorated with red leather chairs, and the main restaurant serves a buffet with hot and cold continental dishes. There are lots of activities available, including tennis and volleyball, plus evening entertainment in the 500-seat amphitheater. The lovely, airy spa has a lengthy menu of facial and body treatments, including anti-aging treatments and holistic Thai massages. The all-inclusive plan includes access to the fitness center, sauna and steam room, sports facilities, kids' club, aqua park, and entertainment during the day and evening.
