Lindos Blu Luxury Hotel & Suites

The Lindos Blu clings to the side of a cliff above the Aegean, built terrace-like into the hill so that every window has a spectacular view. The architecture incorporates rich woods, stone, and acres of glass so that the landscape becomes part of the design. Decor is white, with white orchids throughout. Fountains add to the natural elegance of common areas and there are black and white art photographs on the walls.

The private beach sets a relaxed, refined atmosphere with white canopied sun beds, straw parasols, and waiter service. The pools, surrounded with terraced wooden decks and white lounges, run right to the edge of the cliff. The spa has a Greek zen vibe, with lots of light and picture windows, whitewash and stone, and flowers floating in the soaking tubs.

The Lindos Blu is built into the side of a steep hill overlooking Vlicha Bay. The views are unmatched, and the area is peaceful and isolated, but the historic village of Lindos is a mile from the entrance. Although it is only a 15-minute walk to Lindos, the road is not pedestrian friendly (a taxi or bus can take guests to Lindos). The Rhodes airport and port are 30 miles away.

Rooms at the Lindos Blu are modern and elegant, with spotless hardwood floors and bright accent pillows and headboards. Bathrooms are ultra luxe, with large walk-in showers and separate whirlpool tubs. Rooms have sound systems, large flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and coffeemakers. Some rooms share semi-private infinity pools. Maisonettes have private plunge pools, walk-in closets, in-room hot tubs, private gyms with cardio and weight equipment, luxury toiletries, and stunning outdoor showers lined with stone. Each room, suite, maisonette, and villa has a private terrace that looks over the bay. Guests can see out, but no one can see in.

The Lindos Blu is all about guest comfort, and the spa is the perfect place to start with a hot stone or Thai massage, some reiki, or a facial. Guests have access to a sizable fitness center, sauna, steam room, and the spa's heated indoor pool. There are tennis courts and a private beach, accessed by elevator. There is a mini mart, newsstand, and elegant jewelry shop all on-site. Yoga classes, suitable for novices and the more experienced, are offered free to guests several times a week.

The romantic Five Senses Gourmet Restaurant serves fusion cuisine, in a stylish dining room done in white, chrome, and wood, with silver candelabras on the tables, and private dining nooks hidden by white curtains. The beachfront Smeraldo restaurant serves buffet-style Mediterranean cuisine for lunch and dinner, and a sumptuous breakfast buffet. The Allegro Pool Bar offers drinks and light meals on a beautiful wood and stone terrace.
