Scene
Small, quiet hotel with fresh, clean spaces and a lovely view from many areas
Eagle’s Nest Hotel sits on a hillside overlooking the town of Pefkos, offering a lovely view of the city and ocean. It is in a quiet spot just outside of town, surrounded by open space and some trees. It has the typical Cycladic look -- it is a bright-white building with square corners and blue accents. The front of the building boasts tiered gardens with lovely flowering bushes. Outdoor patios feature white furniture and lampposts, with blue accents in doors, windows, and some tabletops. Everything has a clean, fresh look. Inside, the lobby also sports a white base. Cement floors and dark furnishings - both brown-wicker and black-leather chairs -- create a simple, minimalist look. There are a few pops of color in a sculpted potted plant and a beautiful display of flowers on the reception desk. Mostly couples -- and some families -- come for the quiet, relaxed atmosphere and small-hotel feel.
Location
A quiet spot on the edge of town, within walking distance of beaches
This hotel sits at the eastern edge of Pefkos, the last stop on a road into a largely empty peninsula on the eastern coast of Rhodes. The area is quiet, with little nearby, but there’s a small market a two-minute walk away, plus three restaurants within a five-minute walk. There’s a nice, peaceful beach a 10-minute walk down the road, offering sunbeds for rent. The more popular Pefkos Beach is a five-minute drive from the hotel. It is a 15-minute walk -- or a three-minute drive -- into the center of Pefkos, an area with bars, shops, larger supermarkets, and many restaurants. Lindos, a popular tourist stop with a stunning view from the ancient Acropolis, is a 10-minute drive away. Along the way, St. Paul’s Bay is a beautiful spot with waters ideal for snorkeling, a seven-minute drive from the hotel. There’s a public bus stop a 15-minute walk away, for trips around the island. It is a 75-minute drive to Rhodes International Airport from the hotel.
Rooms
Lovely, spacious rooms include modern amenities
Following the decoration of public areas, minimalist rooms are mostly white with blue accents. Tile floors and white furniture are a base for blue accents in the doors, bedspreads, and artwork. Brown wicker chairs add a darker element to the room. Rooms are spacious, starting at 205 square feet for just the king-size bed (doubles and singles are available in rooms with multiple beds), and desks. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, minibars, coffeemakers, and small safes. All rooms also have furnished balconies or terraces with views toward the sea. Upgrades offer larger rooms with more beds, and there's a suite with two bathrooms and capacity for eight adults. Bathrooms are modern, done all in concrete, with vessel sinks and good-size showers -- upgraded units have hydromassage showers. Hairdryers are provided, and free toiletries include soaps, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner combos, and lotion.
Features
Decent restaurant, lovely pool with a bar, wading pool, and rooftop bar
The restaurant and pool make this hotel a suitable place to relax, though there are no entertainment or spa services on-site. The eatery is small, and the food selection lacks variety, though guests generally find the available choices satisfactory. Buffet-style service includes a free continental breakfast, as well as Greek and international dishes for lunch and dinner. All-inclusive options are available. The indoor space is simple, and there’s poolside seating available on a lovely patio surrounded by flowers and trees, and with a nice view of the sea. The small pool sits on a sunny terrace, surrounded by white plastic loungers under white umbrellas. It has a bench and lounge section in the water on one end. A small wading pool for children is nearby. The area is clean and relaxing, and provides a lovely ocean view. A bar serves cocktails and cool drinks by the pool, and there’s a rooftop bar with the best view on-site. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, but the signal is not reliable in all areas.
