Scene

Value, family-oriented hotel with gorgeous sea views

Decor at the Blue Sea Beach Resort resembles a cruise ship: There is a stylish white circular staircase with red carpeting that runs through the hallways and windows are often porthole in shape. The furniture is a mix of modern pieces and outdated ones. The lobby is painted white and modestly decorated with brown leather couches, two massages chairs, and a large circular fish tank, sectioning off the front desk. Two circular skylights provide natural light to the reception desk. Travel boards in the lobby have posted information about nearby outdoor family-friendly activities. A grassy lawn -- that also has trees providing some shade -- is equipped with blue striped lounge chairs for relaxing and sunbathing.

Location

Close to Rhodes town on Faliraki beach

Rhodes Island, the largest in the Greek archipelago, is home to the Blue Sea Beach Resort. The hotel is on the northeast side of the island on Faliraki Beach and 19 minutes from the city of Rhodes, where tourists can explore the Palace of Grand Master of Knights and take historical walking tours. On the west coast of the island, 46 minutes by car, is Ancient Kamiros. The hotel's location is ideal for families with the Captains Tours Travel Agency seven minutes by foot from the hotel and the water park four minutes by car. The airport is 25-minutes away.

Rooms

Modern and classic rooms with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and sea views from balconies

Decor and furniture are traditional and rather bland in some rooms -- aside from a few peach chairs and couches -- and modern and more stylish in other, more renovated rooms. Rooms have digital safes, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, standard bathrooms with bidets, and stunning views of the sea from balconies. Types of rooms include: 12 singles, 200 doubles, 75 triples, 27 family, and three superior rooms. Some rooms come with sofa beds and fruit gift baskets that include wine. Family rooms have two levels and more contemporary furniture than standard rooms, including blue window coverings, sleek headboards, and blue lighting under the nightstands.

Features

On-site family dining, indoor and outdoor pools, playground, and kid's entertainment

The large pool -- beside a children's pool and grassy lounge area -- has a deck with a shower, blue striped lounge chairs, and grass umbrellas. The two-level pool complex is modern with a bridge, wooden upper deck, waterfall, a children's infinity pool, and a lazy river. The main restaurant -- with peach and beige tiled floors and white chairs -- has a buffet and large windows. There’s also a charming lounge bar with wood accents, a pool bar made of brick and wood, and a lobby bar with flat-screen TVs and brown leather seating. The beach restaurant/bar has a terrace and sea views. The hotel caters to families with a small outdoor stage for live entertainment and a kid's club with a sandy playground that overlooks the sea.
