The renovated lobby is bright, airy, and connects to a larger, open concept lounge area with a fireplace, large TVs, and two-story atrium. The adjacent business center, along with two computer workstations in the lounge, all collectively provide a central hub for hotel guests to work and socialize.

The on-site Margarita’s Restaurant and Watering Hole is a unique feature that provides authentic Mexican food. By night, it’s a lively social spot for hotel guests, particularly during the week when the restaurant offers a number of dinner and happy hour specials.

The Comfort Inn & Suites Boston Logan International Airport’s location on busy Route 60 is a mixed blessing. The hotel is within a five- to 10-minute walk of dozens of restaurants, stores, banks, and pharmacies. The nearest subway station is less than a 20-minute walk, meaning guests can be in the city in less than 45 minutes. Downtown Boston is just five miles away, which is less than 20 minutes by car. However, the downside is that its proximity to the highway means a serious lack of character and charm for the surrounding area.

The rooms are bright, contemporary, and functional. Each of the four room categories offers a slight variation on an almost identical floorplan. Double Queen rooms offer a typical two-bed layout, with a private bathroom. The King and Queen Suites are similarly appointed, but include a microwave and refrigerator plus a separate seating area with a two-person sofabed.

Subtle decorative accents such as stone countertops in the bathroom and on the microwave hutch, along with modern bedding and large flat-screen TVs afford a look and feel that’s above average for a hotel of this class.

The bathrooms in all room categories offer an almost identical floorplan. They’re well-lit, modern, and average-size. Like the rooms, the hotel’s recent remodeling lends a more upscale look and feel to the bathrooms than expected from a typical airport hotel. All bathrooms offer basic hairdryers and generic soaps and shower gels.

The area around the hotel has a well-worn, industrial feel, ensuring that few, if any, of the rooms offers a decent view. Fortunately, the rooms are well insulated with little ambient street noise from the adjacent highway.

The Comfort Inn is 100% smoke-free. The hotel offers pet-friendly rooms for a nominal fee. Other noteworthy in-room amenities include free Wi-Fi and a coffeemaker.

Essential for most travelers is the hotel’s proximity to the airport; it’s easily reachable via the free, 24-hour shuttle. A Park ‘n Fly option allows anyone (including non-hotel guests) to park at the hotel on a weekly basis for a discounted rate.

While it’s clear the hotel primarily targets business travelers, with free Wi-Fi and a business center, the Comfort Inn also features a heated indoor pool — a nice touch for a New England hotel. The fitness center is slightly larger than average and provides an adequate variety of modern cardio and strength training machines.

Several on-site dining options are available. The included free breakfast is a deluxe buffet with the standard list of breakfast items like eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, cereals, and fresh fruit. A small “market” adjacent to the lobby also offers light snacks, ice cream, and microwave dinners (noodles, soups, and pizzas) throughout the day.

The on-site Mexican restaurant/bar, Margarita’s, gets high marks from past guests. Everything from the decor, to the furniture, to the food is as authentic as you can expect for a chain restaurant. While the restaurant does not serve breakfast or lunch, it becomes a lively scene for dinner and drinks most nights of the week. A variety of after work and happy hour specials are available weekdays.
