The 57-room Beach Club is a luxury adult-only property situated on postcard-worthy Catseye Beach, on gorgeous Hamilton Island. Rooms are contemporary-chic and offer amenities like luxe bathrooms, turndown service, and Nespresso machines. They all have balconies or decks facing the sea, and those on the lower level have direct access to the lawn and beach. The infinity pool is stunning, as is the beach, and non-motorized water sports are free. Dining -- including a free a la carte breakfast -- gets good reviews, and the lobby lounge is a lovely space that feels like a well-off friend's beach house. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and romantic. Travelers looking for an even more decadent experience on Hamilton Island could check out the Qualia Resort, but rates there are much higher.
Scene
Lovely, child-free beachfront resort with relaxing, romantic atmosphere
With only two floors, the Beach Club is hidden from the street behind the trees, which gives it a private, exclusive air. In fact, guests entering the lobby and lounge area may feel as if they have arrived at a wealthy friend's chic beach house. Cushy white slipcovered sofas invite lounging in the homey setting while sipping a drink from the bar. With no children running around, the vibe is relaxed, calm, and romantic. It's most attractive to honeymooners and couples celebrating special events. Previous guests rave about the setting, the facilities, and the overall atmosphere -- and we have to agree that the ambience here embraces the Whitsundays paradise-on-earth reputation pretty successfully. Though keep in mind that paradise doesn't come cheaply, and rates here are relatively high per night.
Location
Gorgeous setting on Catseye Beach, close to everything on Hamilton Island
The Beach Club sits on Catseye Beach, on the east side of Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. It has its own stretch of beautiful beach seating for guests, and even though the property is central, things stay quiet. It provides an ideal location for experiencing Hamilton Island, as guests can walk to the other side of the island for restaurants and shops in about 10 minutes. Those who prefer not to walk can take the free shuttle service, which makes regular trips around the island. Hamilton Island Marina can be reached in about eight minutes on foot (also on the other side of the island). The Hamilton Island Airport is about five minutes away by car.
Rooms
Bright, chic, and contemporary, with modern amenities balconies or terraces facing the gorgeous sea
Rooms are fresh and contemporary, with a simple, elegant style that carries over the hotel's polished-home vibe. All face the ocean and feature lots of natural light. Floors are hardwood, and colors are beachy shades of sand and blue. High-end furniture is nicely crafted of light colored wood, and modern art hangs on the walls. Both the bed and two armchairs face windows that look out to the sea. All rooms are well-equipped, with flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, minibars, safes, electric kettles for tea, Nespresso coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. Straw beach bags stocked with towels are nice extras, and housekeeping is provided twice daily (including turndown service). Bathrooms are lovely, with modern sinks and fixtures, upscale toiletries, walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads, and deep egg-shaped soaking tubs. Robes and slippers are provided. All rooms have private terraces or balconies furnished with cushioned wooden day beds. These overlook the grassy lawn, sandy beach, and gorgeous sea, and ground-floor rooms have direct access to those areas.
Features
Beachfront restaurant, lobby lounge, heated infinity pool, water sports, free Wi-Fi, and shuttle service
This luxurious resort takes care of its guests with a number of features. This starts with a free a la carte breakfast that's cooked to order. It's served in the beachfront restaurant, which also serves lunch and dinner. Room service is available as well, but note that there are no all-inclusive rates. The large outdoor infinity pool (heated in winter) is beautiful and overlooks the even more beautiful Coral Sea. Cushioned teak lounge chairs are tailor-made for relaxing by the pool, on the grassy lawn, or sandy beach, and umbrellas, palm trees, and straw huts provide shade. Hammocks on the beach are another great place to relax. More active guests can make use of free sailboats, kayaks, and snorkeling equipment. Guests also have free access to a large fitness center across the road, which also includes a spa and tennis courts. A business center has two computers and a printer for guests to use. Wi-Fi is free in guest rooms and at spots around the island. The island is small enough that energetic guests can walk everywhere, but the hotel provides free chauffeur service all around the island and to and from the airport.
