It can be pricey in peak season; travelers looking to spend less can consider nearby Grouse Mountain Lodge, which tends to have lower rates. 

The Pine Lodge offers budget accommodation in a lovely setting on Whitefish River, while still being just a 10-minute walk from downtown. The 76 guest rooms have been upgraded and are equipped with mini-fridges, microwaves, furnished balconies, and free Wi-Fi; some have fireplaces and hot tubs. There's a free continental buffet breakfast, though the selection is quite limited. The outside deck with a heated swimming pool and hot tub overlooking the river is a highlight, along with the indoor swimming pool. The small fitness center, free outdoor equipment rentals, and shuttles to the ski slopes, Whitefish, and airport are nice bonuses at this price point. As an alternative, the sister property, Best Western Rocky Mountain Lodge, has similar rates and a lovely outdoor pool.
