There's only one reason you would go to the Gardaland Hotel Resort and that is to treat the little ones. It has everything you'd expect to keep a kid happy, including themed rooms, a huge pool, a range of children's activities, and a location near one of Europe's best-known amusement parks. Grownups, however, might struggle to keep amused—there's little beyond the bar and pool for adults. The hotel's not cheap either, especially for the themed rooms, but it may be worth the price to see the smiles on the kiddies' faces.

With only 10 rooms, the Corte Malaspina, in the center of Sandra, has an intimate, familial feel. Rooms in this former country house are individually styled and cozy, and all come with air-conditioning and flat-screen TVs. Triple and Quadruple rooms are available for groups and families with children, and the amusement and theme parks of Gardaland, Movieland, Caneva, and Parco Nautica are all within a 15-minute drive. A breakfast buffet of meats, yogurts, and breads is included in the room rate, and is served in an attractive breakfast room that doubles as a coffee and liquor bar later in the day, with light snacks available. There is no actual on-site restaurant, and a car is necessary to explore the area's sights and eating options.
