Vacationing Brazilian and other South American families make up the majority of guests at the Hotel Costa Norte Massaguacu, located along the Brazilian coast between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, on the Massaguaçu stretch of beach north of Caraguatatuba. The 51 rooms here are simply furnished and have sea-facing balconies. On-site amenities are plentiful and include a pool with a swim-up bar, kids' club, kids' pool, game room, and restaurant that serves an extensive breakfast buffet. This abundance of features is especially welcome considering the hotel's beachfront location is some driving distance from any commercial center. It's also worth noting that the beach immediately in front of the hotel is a fishing beach, rather than a swimming beach, but there are swimming areas within a short walk or drive.
