Pedras da Rainha is a mid-range apartment and villa complex located in east Algarve's small resort of Cabanas. While it's certainly not somewhere to visit for nightlife, the village has a pleasant, laid-back feel with plenty of dining options and a lovely long sandy beach that's a short boat ride away. The 100-odd units are mostly cheerful and bright, though some could use a makeover, and come with cooking amenities and outdoor space. A good-size pool, two eateries, and a range of sports facilities add up to a good option for a range of guests. Compare prices with the nearby Cabanas Park Resort, which adds spa facilities and river views.
