Bottom Line

This 18-room hotel has a serene, cozy vibe and a great location within walking distance of the beach in the so-called Maldives of Salento. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the sea or small, outdoor courtyards, but the Family Rooms are on the small side for four people. A delicious breakfast with pastries is included in the room rate, with a flexible half-board option for guests who want to try the restaurant’s fresh, regional cuisine that is served for dinner.

Scene

Fresh and bright, but still traditional

Opened in 2014, this property has a fresh feel and an eye-catching design that blends the modern with the traditional. There are lovely outdoor seating areas with modern furniture, while the restaurant has more of a traditional look. It’s a quiet place for couples and families to relax.

Location

A short walk to the beach and restaurants

Located in the small seaside village of Pescoluse, the hotel sits in a quiet area that is less than a mile from a white sandy beach and a short walk to several restaurants and snack bars. The area is situated between Santa Maria di Leuca, which is around a 30-minute drive away, and Gallipoli, which is about 40 minutes by car from the hotel.

Rooms

Contemporary furniture and simple decor, with few flourishes outside of beautiful bathroom tiles

The 18 rooms are clean and simply decorated, with tiled floors and contemporary wooden furniture. Some rooms have balconies that overlook the water and are furnished with tiny tables and chairs. Others have small, outdoor courtyards equipped with lounge chairs and patio furniture. The beautifully tiled bathrooms have small stall showers. All rooms are air-conditioned and offer small, flat-screen TVs; mini-fridges; and tiny safes.

Features

Breakfast with pasticciotti, but few other perks

The price of each room includes a breakfast with plenty of freshly baked goodies, including the ever-present pasticciotti. There is a flexible half-board option that includes dinner (the menu often features homemade pasta and other fresh, regional dishes). The price of the room also includes a small bottle of wine and one bottle of mineral water. Repeat guests are offered special services, such as a bottle of champagne or a particular dish. Free Wi-Fi is available in the common areas, but not the guest rooms, which some visitors may find frustrating. The pretty rooftop sundeck with ocean views is a standout, but the hotel lacks any other major features.
