Pros
- A 10-minute walk to the marina and five-minute drive to airport
- Lovely pool with loungers and views of adjacent golf course
- Modern rooms with air-conditioning, coffeemakers, and flat-screen TVs
- Free continental breakfast plus extra hot options for a fee
- Coco Inn serving food and drinks plus room service
- Small business center and meeting room available
- Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel
Cons
- Outside of Puerto Vallarta's main tourist zones
- We spotted a good deal of wear in some rooms
- Wi-Fi barely worked during our visit
Bottom Line
The 121 room Comfort Inn is a pleasant budget option near Puerto Vallarta's airport and marina. Everything looks reasonably modern and pleasant throughout the hotel, including the simple rooms, which feature air-conditioning, coffeemakers, and flat-screen TVs. Still, we did spot a good deal of wear in some of the rooms that we visited. The free breakfast includes continental options, and hot dishes are available for a fee. An outdoor pool is an especially welcome feature, set under palm trees and next to green lawns, and there's a mostly well-liked restaurant serving drinks, lunch, and dinner. As an alternative, the Holiday Inn across the street is a newer, more fresh option that includes a gym and far better Wi-Fi, though rates will be higher.

A straightforward airport hotel with pleasantly modern style
The Comfort Inn is a fine brand outpost, and its reliably clean and pleasantly modern interiors make it a worthwhile choice for those looking to stay near Puerto Vallarta's airport and marina. While there's predictably not a whole lot to the straightforward style here, the first impression is a nice step up for the chain. Local fabrics and prints adorn the lobby, which is done up in a blend of wicker and hardwood pieces of furniture plus pops of bright colors like red and marigold. This isn't exactly a hotel built for socializing, though there is a simple restaurant that serves drinks, and the lovely outdoor pool is a fine place to kick back -- guests can often be found out there under the palm trees. Expect to see an even mix of all types of travelers here, from couples and families to business travelers.
Location
Near Puerto Vallarta's airport, a 10-minute walk from the marina
Those wanting to be in the heart of Puerto Vallarta will want to look elsewhere as this Comfort Inn is best for those with their own wheels or those who need to be near the airport. It's only five minutes by car or cab to the international terminal, and the city's marina is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. There, a number of restaurants and adventure outfitters can be found offering everything from diving to fishing excursions. Aside from the mall just across the street, there's not much else worth seeing and doing out here. The closest beach is a 10-minute drive from the hotel, while Puerto Vallarta's bustling tourist area and the Romantic Zone will take 20 to 25 minutes to reach by car.
Rooms
Simple and reasonably modern rooms featuring air-conditioning and coffeemakers, though we spotted wear and tear
Rooms here come in a few different categories, though the look is similar despite differences in bed configurations and layouts. Sage green accent walls, light wood-veneer furniture with clean lines, and white tile floors combine with brown accents to make for a look that's modern and simple. Unfortunately, we did spot some wear on the furniture in some of the rooms that we visited, though overall everything is clean and well-kept. Standard Rooms offer no additional seating save for a desk chair and wooden chair, though Suites have separate living rooms with leather loveseats, dining areas, and basic kitchenettes with mini-fridges, microwaves, dishes, and sinks.
Standard features in all rooms include coffeemakers and bags of filtered coffee, plus a couple bottles of free water. Air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, and ironing facilities are also included. Wi-Fi is free, but during our visit we weren’t able to get a stable connection for more than a few minutes at most. Other guests have reported the same issue. The bathrooms are simple, with spacious marble vanities and tile walk-in showers. We found the most wear and tear in the bathrooms, though, with some missing grout, the occasional cracked tile, and rust on showerheads. Soap and shampoo are included, as well as a hairdryer.
Features
Lovely outdoor pool, drinks and food at Coco Inn, free continental breakfast, and free parking
While there aren't a ton of features here, the hotel has enough on offer to keep most of the one-night guests happy. The pool is a real highlight. It's situated behind the hotel amid lawns and palm trees, and is ringed by seating with views of the adjacent golf course. Otherwise, the hotel's restaurant, Coco Inn, serves a free continental breakfast with additional hot options available for a fee. Lunch, dinner, and drinks are also available until the evening, as is room service. Food receives generally solid marks from previous guests. The hotel has a small business center and a meeting room, and while Wi-Fi is free, it's not reliable. Parking spaces are available out front of the hotel, and discounts are offered for guests wanting use the adjacent golf course during their visit.
