The sprawling, remote Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico is perched along Coco Beach on the northeastern coast on the island. Although the resort is oceanfront, the beach is somewhat rocky, and some guests plan excursions to visit the nicer beaches on Culebra and Culebrita. One of the resort's strengths is its large, lagoon-style pool with swim-up bar that is a regular hot spot for guests; other facilities of note on-site include a small casino, two 18-hole golf courses, and a spa.
Location
A good 35 minutes from Old San Juan, but beautiful, pristine beaches and lush vegetation abound.
Located on the northeastern coast of Puerto Rico along Coco Beach, Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico's location feels relaxed and remote. A rental car would be wise, as not much is within walking distance of the resort.
Some of the closest restaurants and bars are sprinkled throughout the area on random roads -- mainly PR-3, which connects a series of coastal towns to inland areas. On the activities front, though, there's plenty to do and see within a short drive from the resort: El Yunque National Forest; boat tours; golfing; canopy tours.
