Bottom Line

Located near the shores of Lake Garda, the three-and-a-half-pearl SeeLe Garda hotel is extremely well-suited for those coming to the area for outdoor sports: surfing, windsurfing, and mountain biking are all extremely popular in the area. The 20 rooms are lovely and offer great views from balconies or terraces, although the lowest tier of rooms is disappointingly sparse on amenities (no mini-fridges or free spa access). An outdoor pool, free well-reviewed breakfast, and free Wi-Fi are on offer. It's one of the top-rated properties in the area, but it's a 10-minute stairway walk into town. Travelers looking for a more central property should consider the Hotel Lago di Garda, set right in the center of town (though be ready to pay for that luxury).

Scene

Excellent property for those seeking a spa or sports getaway

Overlooking the shores of Lake Garda, the family-run, boutique SeeLe Garda Hotel is one of the top-rated hotels in Torbole and caters to those after a wellness-focused or sports-centered vacation. With a spa on-site, as well as a partnership with another spa property nearby, there are ample treatments and facilities to choose from. Those wanting something more active can use the property's equipment storage and repair facilities (there's even a vitamin corner at breakfast and a bicycle wash available). Decor throughout is contemporary and incorporates nature materials and colors to bring the hotel's gorgeous setting indoors. Expect tufted brown-leather chairs, tree-stump tables, and lots of blue, green, and brown accents. Lots of windows allow guests to take in the pretty vistas of the mountains and Lake Garda. The overall vibe is relaxed, though occasional evening events liven up the place.

Location

Set back from the lake in a nature-centric area

Located in the water-sports paradise of Torbole on Lake Garda, the hotel is about a 10-minute walk down (and a bit longer back up) stairs from the center of town, where there are several restaurants and spots for apertifs. Guests with rental cars looking for a day trip from the lake area can find Verona, Venice, Milan, and Switzerland all within a one- to four-hour drive away. Although there's the option to choose from a few airports, they're all quite far away: Venice Treviso is about two and a half hours, Venice Marco Polo is about two hours, and Verona Airport is about an hour by car.

Rooms

Rooms are relaxing, with great views of the lake and mountains.

The hotel offers 20 rooms across three floors, decorated for relaxation with clean lines, wood floors, and traditional colors that reflect the surroundings (blues, light greens, and browns). Expect blue accent walls, white wood furniture, patchwork throw pillows, and large, beautiful photos of the region above the beds. Some add lovely beamed ceilings. Each of the rooms fall into one of three types, which come with different amenities. The lake-view Garda Rooms come with free spa entry, a free drink, and a tea- and coffee-making tray; SeeLe Rooms guests get free spa entry; and Soul Rooms are of the regular, no-perk variety. Each room, however, offers furnished terraces and balconies, and even those without lake views offer great mountain landscapes from the windows. Each room has air-conditioning, a digital safe, and satellite flat-screen TV. Per above, only one type of room comes with a kettle for hot drinks, and only the top two tiers of rooms can request a mini-fridge. Bathrooms are large across all room types and come with showers, basic toiletries, and hairdryers.

Features

Great spa and sport facilities, plus a free healthy breakfast buffet

SeeLe's on-site spa, included in the price of the two nicest room types, offers a sauna with chromotherapy, an emotional shower, and a Turkish bath, as well as a relaxation area and whirlpool. There's also a small outdoor pool for cooling off and taking in mountain vistas. The hotel also partners with Garda Thermae, a wellness facility about an eight-minute drive away with a series of baths and a gym. A fitness room is on-site, but it's a tiny space with just a couple pieces of equipment. An excellent, free breakfast buffet uses local products for its continental spread (which also includes hot items like scrambled eggs), and guests can choose whether they have it poolside, in the lake-view dining room, or on the terrace. Uniquely, there's also a vitamin corner at breakfast. Late-afternoon snack time and a few cute evening events like pasta parties are provided, but there's no daily full restaurant. Storage for bicycles and surfboards are available, as well as a repair room and bicycle-washing facilities. Wi-Fi is free and works well throughout the property. Covered parking is free and on-site, though it can be a bit tight for larger cars.
