Tsokkos Gardens Hotel
Athinas 18

The mid-range Tsokkos Garden Hotel is a dated property that's a suitable option for those wanting some beach and pool time on a budget. It's located just a two-minute walk from the nearest beach and a five-minute walk from a water park that, depending on one's rate, offers free admission. Guests can choose from a variety of board options, from bed-and-breakfast to all-inclusive with alcohol, but take note that drinks are reportedly watered down and the restaurants' menus don't offer much in the way of variety or quality. Although slightly pricier, there's better value to be found at the Grecian Park Hotel, which is located in the same resort area of Protaras, and offers more attractive rooms and a chic spa.

Sunrise Pearl Hotel & Spa
Protara Avenue 43

The Sunrise Pearl Hotel and Spa is the 146-room luxury property of the Sunrise hotel group. Situated next to the Sunrise Beach Hotel (and sharing some amenities), it offers a classier, pricier beach experience than other Sunrise properties (and many other resort hotels). With modern, sleekly designed rooms, a luxurious spa, and extensive four-pool patio, the hotel is a great place to relax and enjoy the sea. This four-pearl hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Protaras.

Malama Beach Holiday Village
Kennedy Ave

The Malama Holiday Village is a three-and-a-half-pearl, sprawling complex of 166 apartment-style suites. Targeted towards families, the hotel has two large outdoor pools, a number sports activities, and a kids' club that runs six days a week. With a small market, two restaurants (one is lunch-only) and two bars, there are dining options on-site, and the main commercial area of Protaras is within walking distance. A small beach is connected to the property, with larger ones close by. Suites are simple and clean with full kitchens -- bathrooms have been renovated. Overall, this is a convenient and fun option for a low rate. Note, that the hotel is closed in the winter.

Louis Althea Beach Hotel
Ellinon 34

The Louis Althea Beach Hotel is a large complex of 150 apartment-style suites in Protaras. The decor is simple and dated, but the family friendly features (such as the mini club, children's pool, and playground), two large outdoor pools, and its proximity to the beach make the hotel a convenient option. The large apartments (and a Villa) with kitchens make this hotel most attractive to families, but the place is by no means overrun with children. One pool functions somewhat like a de facto adult pool, and there’s plenty of space to find seclusion. This upper-middle-range hotel offers guests a variety of entertainment and relaxation--from basketball games to a beach stroll. The six restaurants and bars provide a range of dining options, and guests can choose an all-inclusive stay if it's fitting.

Grecian Park Hotel
81, Konnos Street

The beautiful, four-pearl, 239-room Grecian Park Hotel sits high on a cliff overlooking Konnos Bay. A large, elegant property, the hotel has eight unique bars and restaurants, most of which take advantage of the amazing Mediterranean view. Rooms are elegantly simple, and each comes with a sunlit balcony, a flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi. Clean and modern bathrooms can be on the small side. The beach is accessible via a steep walk down the cliff, but the azure water and white sand are worth the hike. Located next to the Cape Greco National Park, the hotel is a short drive to Protaras and Ayia Napa.

Sunrise Beach Hotel
Hotels Ave

The 245-room Sunrise Beach Hotel is a simply, yet elegantly designed three-and-a-half-pearl hotel on the main street of Protaras. In the heart of the city, the Sunrise Beach is near plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, and beaches, but there’s little need to travel off-site. With three restaurants and three bars, plus four nearby restaurants with whom the hotel has half-board deals for guests, dining and drink needs are more than met. The facility has a large, active pool patio that leads directly to the beach. There is squash and tennis courts, a gym, and a spa next door at the adjacent Sunrise Pearl Hotel. Rooms are spacious, simply but nicely decorated, and include balconies. Note that this property is closed from November until March.

Capo Bay Hotel
2 Iasonos St, P.O.Box 33115

The 225-room Capo Bay Hotel is a simple, upscale hotel overlooking Fig Tree Bay. Off one of the island’s main roads, the hotel is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the swimmable beach. Three swimming pools, a spa, and on-site boutiques mean there's plenty to do. There are a number of restaurants and bars, but you may find a better deal by going off the grounds to eat. The rooms lack a sense of style and aren’t overly large, but do include flat-screen TVs, minibars, and coffeemakers. In-room Wi-Fi is available for a fee. Note that the hotel is closed from November until the end of March.
