Bottom Line

The four-pearl Vienna House Andel’s Prague is a business-focused hotel in a modern, corporate area of the city, across from a shopping mall. It’s a bit far from many tourist attractions, but there’s a metro and tram stop a short walk away. The 239 rooms are cozy and clean, with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and heated floors in the bathrooms. The property has a spa, gym, restaurant, and a breakfast buffet, but the main draw for many are the 20 meeting and conference rooms. Note that there’s no pool and the spa and gym cost a fee to use. Travelers may want to compare rates at Corinthia Hotel Prague, which has a pool, three restaurants, and two bars.

Scene

Business hotel with a neutral color tone and sleek areas

Located in a business district and across the river from New Town Prague, Vienna House Andel’s Prague is a big, modern hotel that's popular with business travelers. Overall, it has a chic business vibe with a modern exterior of stone and glass and stark, minimalist interiors. The vast lobby has white tile floors and a long stone front desk, plus a few seating areas with tables and chairs and black and tan couches and chairs separated by gauzy white curtains to break up the space. The restaurant and bar adds boisterous hits of red in the dining room napkins, bar chairs, and the bar's backsplash, giving a bit of life to the subdued wooden floors, glass tables, and square leather bar stools. An outdoor seating area gives a spot for alfresco dining as well.

Location

Modern business district location near public transportation

Vienna House Andel’s Prague is located on the west side of the Vltava River in the modern, business district of Andel. The hotel’s location is best suited for business travelers, as most tourist attractions -- including Old Town and Prague Castle -- aren’t within walking distance. The Novv Smichov shopping center is, however, across the street and there are plenty of restaurants that can be reached on foot. To get to other parts of the city, travelers can head to the metro stop that’s two minutes from the property or the tram stop, a five-minute walk away. The Vaclav Havel Airport is a 23-minute car ride away.

Rooms

Pleasant, contemporary rooms with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and bathrooms with heated floors

The Andel's 239 rooms are contemporary and tastefully decorated, with warm tones, wooden or carpeted floors, white linen bedding with red-and-tan bed blankets, and simple modular furniture. Compared to the hotel’s public spaces, the rooms impart a warmer vibe and include flat-screen TVs, minibars, air-conditioning, and safes. Some rooms also have kettles. Executive Rooms come with perks such as free room-service breakfast, free entry to the spa and gym, discounted parking, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. Studios, Apartments, and Maisonettes are outfitted with kitchenettes with sinks and two-burner stoves. Some rooms have balconies, though neither the street nor the courtyard views are of particular note. Bathrooms are spotless and sleek with heated floors, vessel sinks, bathtubs, and separate walk-in showers. Basic toiletries and hairdryers are provided.

Features

Meeting and conference rooms, gym, spa, restaurant, bar, and breakfast service

Vienna House Andel’s Prague’s biggest draw are its 20 conference and meeting rooms that can hold over 1,000 people. Other business amenities include two iMacs and free property-wide Wi-Fi. There's also a gym with a variety of cardio and weight machines plus a spa with beauty treatments, massages, steam rooms, and saunas, but both are run by an outside company and thus cost extra to use. Dining options include a basic breakfast buffet (not included in all room rates) and Oscar’s Bar/Brasserie, a restaurant and bar that serves meals throughout the day. Room service is also available, though hours are limited. The hotel offers on-site parking with electric-car charging stations for a fee.
