Scene
Modern boutique hotel with Asian-inspired decor in the Old Town
Set back from the bustle of a main shopping thoroughfare and with a beautiful old square at the end of its street, the Perla is right in the center of the Old Town. Aptly named, the Asian-inspired design incorporates lots of pearls, from the four bubble front desks to the large murals behind beds. A mustard-yellow paint dominates the walls of the lobby, hallways, and cafe, which are offset by wood or copper floors, and red intricately carved wood furniture. The polished cafe and bar acts as the main common area for guests, though there's also a smoking lounge is on the fifth floor, however, cigarette smells drift to hallways and rooms. The hotel mostly draws tourists, with a few business travelers here for the central location.
Location
On a calm street near a quaint square, right in the Old Town
The hotel's surrounding buildings are mostly residential with some ground-level cafes and shops, but its side-street location is just off a main shopping street. Two minutes' walk from Mustek metro station and five minutes from the tram, it's in a well-connected are, plus its central Old Town location means plenty is accessible on foot. Bethlehem Chapel is a three-minute walk and the Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square, and Charles Bridge are all under a 10-minute walk. The National Theatre and Palladium shopping mall are the same distance, and there's a mini-market next door. Guests shouldn't find the hotel's lack of a full restaurant too much of a problem, as there are many nearby. Vaclav Havel Airport is a 25-minute drive or 45 minutes by public transport and guests staying a minimum of three nights get free airport transfers.
