Bottom Line
Occidental Praha Five is a 134-room hotel in Prague's business district. Rooms and suites are bright and modern with sleek bathrooms, some offering shower/tub combos. There's also a small fitness room with weights and cardio equipment along with a sauna. Thai massages can be arranged in rooms. While the property is ideal for business travelers looking for a clean, contemporary hotel suited to their work needs, those wanting more Old World charm should check out properties closer to the traditional city center.

Modern business hotel with sterile feel
The modern Occidental Praha Five has a sterile business ambiance, and lacks the elegance and history of many of the popular tourist hotels in Old Town. The lobby is decked out in shades of dark brown, cream, and retro ‘70s lime green, and houses a front desk as well as a small bar with an adjacent seating area. Rooms and an underground parking lot can be accessed by elevator for guests who don't want to trudge up and down stairs with their luggage. The hotel is within walking distance of major corporate offices and attracts a large number of business travelers along with some vacationers.
Location
In Prague's Smichov neighborhood, near corporate offices
The hotel is located in the commercial Smichov neighborhood of Prague and is a short walk to the Andel metro Station. Prague's Old Town, with sights such as the Astronomical Clock, is a 15-minute metro ride away, while the Hradcany castle district takes under half an hour to reach by public transport or less than 10 minutes by car. For a fee, a 24-hour airport shuttle is available to ferry guests to and from the Vaclav Havel Airport Prague, a 20-minute drive away.
Rooms
Modern rooms and suites with bright ambiance and modern comforts
There are four room categories at the Praha Five. Superior and Executive units are the same size, with the only real difference being that Executives come with coffeemakers, umbrellas, and, in some cases, better views. Slightly larger Family Rooms and Junior Suites have separate bedrooms, with living-room areas provided in suites. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, safes, minibars, and flat-screen TVs with satellite channels. Decor is bright and inspires a feeling of springtime, with light-wood floors, white bedspreads, and grass green accents. Bathrooms are dark and sleek, with a charcoal palette and walk-in showers, or, in higher-category rooms, shower/tub combos.
Features
Three meeting rooms, a fitness center with a sauna, and Thai massage available in rooms
The hotel doesn't have a proper restaurant, though there is a bar/coffee shop where a breakfast buffet is served every morning for a hefty fee. There are also three generously-sized meeting rooms with dark-wood furniture and crisp decor; the largest of the rooms can seat up to 64 guests theater style. There's a small fitness room that provides free weights, elliptical machines, a treadmill, and a rowing machine. The adjacent sauna offers towels, water, and fruit as well. In-room Thai massages can be arranged on request, and on-site parking is available in the basement garage for a fee. The hotel also arranges tours of Prague’s city center and other nearby locales.
