Bottom Line

Hotel Yasmin is an upscale property with a stylish nature theme located just off Wenceslas Square in the center of Prague. Restaurants, shops, and sights such as Old Town are within walking distance, as is public transportation, but the property maintains a quiet feel. Its 196 rooms are modern and understated with streamlined furniture, minibars, and coffee/tea facilities. Features include a noodle restaurant and bar, a garden terrace for warm-weather dining, and a very small gym. Breakfast and Wi-Fi are free. Renovations to the lobby were ongoing as of April 2016, but guests report little to no noise disturbance; the property also plans to add a massage room and a glass roof to the terrace. Travelers could also consider MOODs Boutique Hotel, a hip upscale property with a small spa and Apple TVs for rent.

Scene

Nature-themed, contemporary hotel that draws couples

Though Hotel Yasmin occupies an elegant neoclassical building with a cream-colored stone facade, its decor is decidedly modern. Inside the lobby, the nature theme is immediately evident, extending throughout common areas. The black-tile floors are decorated with white leaves; walls are painted grassy green; and leaf-print designs cover a large mirror behind the long white reception desk. Several globe-like chrome lamps dangle overhead, furthering the slightly trendy, youthful vibe. The main restaurant has the same chrome lights, as well
as wooden floors, white and black futuristic chairs, and large tree-like sculptures. One of the nicest parts of the property is a lovely outdoor courtyard with a
wooden deck, white tables, and tan woven chairs shaded by white
umbrellas. Couples are the primary guests here, drawn to the hotel for its
modern design and good location near dining, shopping, and some of the city's most-visited sights.

Location

Just off Wenceslas Square, within walking distance to Old Town and restaurants

Travelers are attracted to Hotel Yasmin
for its location within walking distance to some of Prague’s most popular
attractions. The hotel connects directly to the historic Wenceslas Square via a passageway. It’s an 11-minute walk to Old Town Square in the historic city center, with the cobbled streets of Old Town extending around it. A 13-minute walk away is the Church of Our Lady before Týn. It's a nine-minute walk to the 11th-century Powder Tower, while The Charles Bridge takes about 20 minutes to reach on foot. At a
30-minute walk, Prague Castle might be too far for some, making the nearby
metro station, Muzeum, (four-minute walk) and tram stop (14-minute walk) convenient. Prague’s
Main Railway Station is only about five minutes away on foot. There are a number of
dining options on surrounding streets and as for shopping, the Palladium
shopping center is an 11-minute walk away. Vaclav Havel Airport is a 25-minute
drive from the hotel.

Rooms

Modern, serene rooms with minibars, flat-screen TVs, and coffee/tea facilities

Guest rooms at the Hotel Yasmin are all about
modern simplicity and clean, functional design. With a gray, tan, or cream
color palette, the rooms have a serene and warm feeling. Beds have white
linens and pale-gray headboards, while simple hanging lamps lend soft light. The streamlined IKEA-like
furniture includes small tables or desks, tall closets that store electronic safes, and cabinets the hold minibars and coffee/tea facilities. Junior Suites have living space with soft gray seating, while the Yasmin Suites have separate living rooms and bedrooms; both Suite options add higher ceilings, robes and slippers, iPod docks, and espresso-makers. Bathrooms sport a sleeker look that includes black glossy tiles, white
sinks, and clear glass showers (Yasmin Suites have shower/tub combos).
Hairdryers and toiletries are provided, though toiletries are placed in
dispensers on the walls. Occasional complaints about room cleanliness/upkeep have been made.

Features

Noodle restaurant, lovely terrace, free breakfast, lobby bar, small gym, and a public computer

Hotel
Yasmin’s centerpiece is its stylish eatery, Noodles. The menu includes
noodles from all over the world, from Thai to Italian. A terrace provides
outdoor seating for alfresco dining on warmer days; the hotel plans to add a glass ceiling some time this year. The free breakfast has received positive reviews and includes a good variety of pastries, cooked items, and gluten-free options.
There’s 24-hour room service. The lobby bar serves a number of
alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. A small fitness room has a few dated cardio
machines and free weights. Business facilities include free Wi-Fi and a public
computer with a printer. There’s an underground parking garage that can be used
for a fee.
