Bottom Line

The 87-room Hotel Roma Prague is a mid-range property with a convenient location near restaurants and shops. A public transportation stop across the street connects to major sights, such as the Old Town. Rooms are mostly a good size with minibars and electric kettles,
but the decor is dated and some rooms experience exterior noise. The on-site

the fitness center has an updated sauna and kids' play area. Parking is available

Scene

A traditional, dated hotel

Like the exterior, Hotel Roma Prague is mostly
traditional with some areas that are slightly dated. Character shows in the
winding hallways and painted walls of the restaurants while tan tile runs
throughout the common areas. The lobby has a lovely fish tank as well as a
strip of skylights, and there is a beautiful seasonal garden filled with brick,
seating, and landscaped greenery. Coffee, tea, and free newspapers are also
available in the lobby. Pink and black chairs matched to pink place mats and
traditional paintings decorate the breakfast room along with tan drapes. Everything
is a bit mismatched, but the glassed-in eating area with garden views is great come
warmer months. The lobby bar is cozy with a wood bar, brass barstools, and an enclosed design.
There are also brown leather tufted couches and skylights providing natural
light. Some aspects of the hotel are dated, but overall it’s clean and cozy.

Location

In Mala Strana; restaurants and public transportation are within walking distance

The Hotel Roma Prague is located below Petrin Hill on a cobbled street in
Mala Strana. The Charles Bridge, public
transportation, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance, but major
attractions such as the Prague Castle, Old Town, and Prague Opera are a
15- to 20-minute tram ride from the hotel. Public transportation can take you
anywhere you want to go, and a rental car is only necessary if you plan to leave
the city.

Rooms

Dated rooms come with some charm and a few perks.

At the Hotel Roma Prague, there are a few
different room options available for various size groups, but all rooms have dated decor. All rooms have sponge-painted walls in red, orange, or green, and tan or
green curtains. Reddish tile or herringbone wood floors adorn the area and some
have views of Petrin Hill. Some antique rooms include marvelous vintage wood
furniture while others barely have a spec of charm. iPod docks,
stocked minibars, and electric kettles surround the desks while
flat-screen TVs sit on top of them. In-room safes are too small for laptops, but
there are robes and slippers. Bathrooms are also old with sand-colored tile and
white sinks attached to the wall. There is a small shelf with a little bit of
room for toiletries in each, and there are showers or tubs, but not both. Showers and
tubs look aged in gray and there are makeup mirrors and Four Elements amenities in all bathrooms.

Features

Free breakfast and Wi-Fi, plus a fitness center with a sauna and kids' play area

Many guests mention the great free
breakfast at the Hotel Roma Prague, which includes eggs, sausage, pastries,
cereal, and yogurt. The property also offers free Wi-Fi. There’s a lobby bar connected
to the garden serving many types of drinks. A fitness center has a good amount
of equipment in addition to a modern sauna and kids' play area with toys and
activities; the sauna has a nice skylight as well. Parking on-site is in the
underground garage and room service is available by request. The business
center in the lobby is 24-hour, with a wood desk and chairs as well as two
computers.
