Opened in 2014, Grandior Hotel Prague is a modern luxury
hotel with a high-end chain aesthetic throughout its 293 spacious rooms. It’s located on the outskirts of the city
center, less than a 20-minute walk from the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock
Tower. The hotel offers a wide range of amenities, including a free breakfast buffet, a trendy bar and restaurant, and a large spa. The hotel shares a breakfast room, bar, and spa with the DesignhotelElephant Prague, a four-pearl hotel in an adjoining space, so those looking to
stay in the same location may want to compare rates.
Scene
Large, modern hotel with sleek lobby; shares space with the upscale Designhotel Elephant Prague
Opened in 2014, the Grandior Hotel Prague has a modern façade, with red
window casings and red balconies. The lobby is similarly modern and shiny, with sleek,
black columns and long, horizontal ceiling lights that give the front desk a
futuristic feel. There are white leather couches for guests to sit on and a Nespesso
bar with funky, metal barstools where guests can grab a coffee or drink. The two-story spa is a palace of relaxation, with a wide range of new treatment options, including the unique beer spa, with its barrel-like wooden tubs with beer taps; other rooms in the spa have a more Asian-influenced aesthetic. The Grandior Restaurant is a large, cafeteria-style room on the second floor -- overlooking the lobby and shared with the
attached Designhotel Elephant Prague -- where pianists entertain
diners with Latin American music.
Location
On the outskirts of Prague's historic center, near bus and metro stations
The hotel
is located on the outskirts of Prague's historic city center, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and public transportation nearby. The Old Town Square, with its famous Astronomical clock, can be reached in
about 20 minutes on foot, or in about 10 minutes on via public transportation. It’s about
a six-minute walk to the Metro Station Forenc, and Prague Castle can be reached
in around 20 minutes via public transportation. The airport takes just under
25 minutes to reach by car, and the hotel can arrange airport transfers (and car service around the city, for that matter) for a fee.
Rooms
Spacious, contemporary rooms with modern bathrooms and upscale, chain-inspired decor; some with private balconies
Rooms at the Grandior Hotel Prague are
quite spacious, especially when compared to other hotel rooms in the historic city. Yellow accent ceilings with matching
bed runners and pillows add a touch of brightness, while sleek black doors and
furnishings keep in line with the hotel’s modern edge. The decor is, overall, modern and upscale, if a bit bland and chain-inspired. Some rooms have private balconies, and suites have large living rooms. Bathrooms are similarly modern, with cream-colored marble tile-work and shower/tub combinations with glass
dividers, as well as L’Occitane toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, coffee/tea facilities, stocked minibars, and free Wi-Fi.
Features
Extensive free breakfast buffet, restaurant and bar, and spa with a range of treatments
Several
of the amenities at the hotel are shared with an adjoining hotel, including the
large breakfast room, where an extensive free buffet includes omelets, meats,
and cheeses. While the buffet is high-quality, many guests complain that the room
gets crowded at peak hours. The hotel is home to a high-end restaurant and bar, as well as a fitness center and
spa that offers a wide range of unusual treatments and has a hammam, sauna, and beer spa. (Beer spa treatments include a bath with hops and yeast, unlimited free beer, and a massage with beer oil.) There's also a huge meeting space that can be divided into nine separate halls and can accommodate up to 500 guests.
Parking is available for a fee, babysitting can be arranged, and car rental can be booked through the hotel.
