Scene

Boutique hotel tucked below Prague Castle with beautiful views

Narrow alleyways with
cobblestone streets lead to the Golden Well’s entrance, which is somewhat hidden below white archways. Once housing the private residence of the Emperor
Rudolph II, the hotel has wooden staircases,
tapestry rugs, and eclectic homey furniture that create a charming ambience. A stone
terrace wraps around the corner of the hotel, with sleek rattan seating under
umbrellas that offers views of an immaculate green courtyard. The hotel has a small restaurant, with elegant lighting and rich leather chairs, with views of the City of 100 Spires. In the summer, guests have direct access  to the Royal Gardens of Prague
Castle through a private gate.

Location

Next to Prague Castle, and 12-minute walk to the Charles Bridge

Golden
Well is somewhat hidden, located below the walls of Prague Castle in the Mala Strana
District on the left bank. It’s within a 12-minute walk of the Charles Bridge, and the
city’s Town Square, with its famous Astronomical Clock, is within a 15-minute bus
ride. The airport is about a half-hour drive away. Expect to pay for parking on-site.

Rooms

Beautiful rooms with hard-wood floors and pretty bedding

Rooms at the Golden Well
are classic, with such homey touches as potted plants and pretty floral bedding. Some
rooms have exposed wooden beams, adding to the rustic vibe. Rooms have modern
amenities, including iPads and Apple TVs, through which guests can tap videos and music from their iTunes accounts, and free Wi-Fi. Minibars are well stocked with cold drinks and snacks, and all rooms have espresso machines. Bathrooms come with shower/tub combos, makeup mirrors, robes and slippers, and Molton Brown toiletries, but some rooms are
on the small side.

Features

Free breakfast buffet of cheese and pastries, with coffee or tea, outdoor terrace, and a restaurant

A free breakfast of pastries, cheeses, and coffee or tea is available at the Golden Well. The hotel's restaurant serves such dishes as Roasted Rack of Fallow Deer and Roasted
Duck Liver Terrine. The restaurant has an outdoor terrace -- with heaters -- and
spectacular views of Prague rooftops. A private gate leads to the
Royal Garden of Prague Castle in the summer. There’s an Internet corner with a
laptop and printer available for guests’ use, and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The bar offers limited
edition cognac, including the Remy Martin Louis XIII Fortress label, and the staff has been specifically trained to handle this precious liquid.
