From top to bottom, the 38-room, five-pearl, Buddha-Bar
Hotel Prague has left no detail untouched. A luxurious finish is felt from the on-site restaurant to the full-service spa to the chic rooms; the Asian-inspired style works, never crossing the line to cheesy. Common areas are full of reds and blacks and this color scheme extends to the inviting rooms with posh extras like sound systems, separate soaking tubs and stall showers, and fresh orchids. There is no on-site fitness center,
but guests can use one a short walk away for free, and there is free Wi-Fi. The
richness of the hotel is accented by its fantastic central location in the Old Town
where many sights, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance.
Scene
Upscale hotel with Asian-inspired design that’s lavish yet cozy
Covered in mood lighting as well as reds
and blacks, the Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague has an Asian-inspired design with an
air of luxury. Deep red lampshade chandeliers have hanging green pieces while the
white molding on the walls and ceiling has golden painted accents. The lobby
feels intimate and exclusive with red leather chairs and black antique-style
couches while the Siddharta Cafe has a pop art design featuring high ceilings,
turquoise chairs, and hardwood floors. Lighting underneath the bar, tea on
display in corked bottles, and large, thick-framed mirrors also decorate the
restaurant. Etched glass doors allow all the common spaces to flow without
interruption and the brown tile floor also helps to connect different areas. Coffee
and tea, as well as a bin full of black umbrellas, are available in the lobby.
Although the hotel is filled with ornate details, it still feels welcoming and
cozy.
Location
On a quiet street in central Old Town
The Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague is on the
corner of a quiet street in the Old Town where many restaurants, shops, and
public transportation stops are within easy walking distance. The Gastronomy Museum,
Old Town Square, Astronomical Clock, and Palladium Shopping Center are all
under a seven-minute walk from the hotel and a rental car is only necessary for those that plan to leave Prague.
Rooms
Chic rooms with Asian-inspired design and an attention to detail
All soundproofed rooms at the Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague have Asian-inspired style with orchids
that give the room a fragrant aroma. Upon entering the room, guests hear the
Buddha-Bar CD music from ceiling speakers, which sets the tone. Rooms have black headboards with dragon designs and thick black wood bed frames along with electronic blinds and Sub-Zero minibars. There is a real attention to detail, right down to the fancy metal handles on the wardrobes and the red and gold hanging lanterns by the beds. Nespresso coffeemakers, free bottled water,
and Aquasound systems are in all rooms while upgraded rooms have 30- to
60-minute massages, whirlpool tubs, and free Champagne included in the price. Bathrooms
are alluring in shimmering red tile with rainfall showerheads in walk-in showers, robes, slippers,
and L’Occitane amenities. What looks like a regular mirror actually houses a
flat-screen TV within view from the soaking tub and there are contemporary, white
bowl sinks on large countertops. Another gorgeous dragon covers the tub while a
good-size window lets in a lot of natural light.
Features
Excellent on-site spa and restaurant; free access to nearby fitness center
With gorgeous brown tile and dragon
artwork, the full-service spa is upscale and filled with amenities. A sauna and a steam
room are on-site and the facility provides body wraps/scrubs, facials, and
massages; in-room massages are available and included in the price of some
rooms. There is a large, jetted hot tub, flowing curtains, and a range of
L’Occitane amenities that add to the grandeur, and showers have big rainfall
showerheads. Wi-Fi is free. Siddharta Cafe, the on-site restaurant, serves French Colonial
cuisine and has high-end teas along with a humidor full of cigars. Breakfast at
this restaurant is included with some packages, and there is room service, but the
hours are limited. This hotel is pet-friendly and for an extra fee, pets can
receive their own bed, water bowl, and snack. No fitness center is present at this
hotel, but guests have free access to the Fitness Kotva gym that’s a two-minute
walk from the hotel.
