Best Western Hotel Kinsky Garden occupies an eye-catching 19th-century building that makes a stately first impression, just opposite peaceful Kinsky Park -- the largest park in Prague. The hotel is one of the few hotels in the area keeping the historical feel both inside and out. This will either be charming or dated, depending on a guest's tastes. Interiors feature classic Italian-inspired decor, and the traditional vibe starts right off the bat, in the mezzanine lobby with an abundance of dark wood and polished brass. The lobby bar is elegant, with square-tiled flooring and rouge pink furniture, while the walls are decorated with moody oil paintings. The hotel mainly attracts individuals and couples who want a quiet sanctuary in Prague, though be prepared to shell out for cabs to reach the sights in Prague's Old Town.

The hotel is situated in the largely residential Mala Strana neighborhood, a few blocks west of the Vltava River and opposite the expansive and popular Kinsky Gardens. The area is peaceful and not very touristy, though there are cafes and restaurants within a short walk. Those who want to check out the historic sights on the other side of the river will likely need to hail a cab. While it's only a 15-minute walk to cross the bridge that leads to the Old Town's southern edge, it's farther to the Clementinium (a 25-minute walk) and longer still to the jewish Quarter. Cabs to these destinations take five to 10 minutes. There's also a tram stop a two-minute walk away, which can reach both the castle or Wenceslas Square within 10 to 15 minutes. The Andel Metro stop is an 11-minute walk from the hotel. It's a 15 to 20-minute drive to Prague's Vaclav Havel Airport, and the hotel provides airport transfers (for a fee).

Guest rooms at Best Western Hotel Kinsky Garden are decorated with simple, classic furniture that has a traditional look, though the overall palette and style is dated. All rooms feature hardwood flooring, with a rouge pink color scheme appearing in the curtains, furniture, and linens (including bedspreads). Everything is well kept, which helps make them pleasant, though the limited wall art (simple black-and-white pictures of Prague) don't add much personality. The Single Standard Rooms overlook the courtyard, while other rooms all overlook the Kinsky Gardens. Despite busy traffic outside, rooms are well soundproofed. Guests can then get drinks and a limited selection of snacks and Italian cuisine from the lobby bar. The staff often offer welcome drinks to guests upon arrival. There are limited amenities for business travelers, with only one small meeting room available, as well as a computer and printing facilities. The hotel offers an airport transfer service -- for an additional fee and needs to be organized in advance. There is parking available (for a fee) at either a schoolyard -- 350-meters from the hotel -- or garages (only if available, and can't be reserved beforehand).
