With a quiet location and comfortable beds, the Anna Hotel is a good pick for travelers looking to get a good night’s rest at a reasonable price within reach of major Prague sights via public transportation. The mid-range boutique hotel has only 26 rooms, and there aren’t a lot of amenities, but a free breakfast buffet is served daily in a pretty atrium and Wi-Fi is free. The hotel is located a bit far from sightseeing attractions, but the subway is less than a five-minute walk away, making the city accessible. Those looking to stay closer to Prague's sights should compare rates with Cloister Inn Hotel, a three-pearl property within walking distance of the Charles Bridge and town square.
Scene
Charming six-story hotel in historic building, with atrium
Built over 100 years ago and used as residential property until 1948, the Anna Hotel is a pretty, pink building with teal doors and window frames, tucked into a row of buildings similar in a style. Inside, the lobby is painted cream and peach, with decorative tile flooring. There's a mirror over the small fireplace in the lobby, and an old-fashioned call bell sits on the front desk for guests to ring to grab the attention of one of the welcoming staff members. A small parlor area with patterned curtains and brass-framed pictures hanging on the walls has leather chairs for guests to sit in. Breakfast is served in a spacious atrium with tables and wicker chairs, where potted plants hang from the peaked glass ceiling.
Location
In a residential neighborhood somewhat removed from major attractions, but close to the subway
The hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood that's somewhat far from the city center, but there’s a subway within a five-minute walk; the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with its famous astronomical clock, and Prague Castle are all within a 15-minute ride on the subway. There are plenty of restaurants, as well as nightlife, within walking distance. The airport is around a 30-minute drive, and the hotel will arrange airport transfers upon request. There's a parking garage close to the hotel, but parking is only available for a fee.
Rooms
Clean, homey, somewhat dated rooms with comfortable beds
Rooms at the Anna Hotel are cozy, if a bit dated in style, decorated with carpeted floors, comfortable beds, and wooden furnishings. Decor varies, but some of the rooms we looked at had light walls, floral curtains, and photos of the city. The Triple Room has an additional day bed, and is decorated with gray, floral bedding that matches the chair cushions, while the Double Room in the attic has light blue slanted walls. Most rooms have wooden desks, and all rooms have flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have charming rosy tile work and stand-up showers. Air-conditioning is available for a fee.
Features
Free breakfast buffet, pets allowed for a fee
There aren’t a lot of amenities at Anna Hotel, but guests appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and reasonable rates. There’s a free breakfast buffet that includes fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, and ham, among other options. Tea, coffee, soda, water, and beer are all available to purchase in the lobby. Parking is available for a fee, and pets are allowed for a fee.
