Hotel Garbi Ibiza & Spa

Hotel Garbi has all the amenities associated with a hip property on Ibiza: poolside DJ sessions, a swanky spa with mood lighting, free Wi-Fi, modern rooms, and a beach lounge. The hotel attracts mostly couples and groups of friends here to explore the world-famous Ibiza nightlife, but the ambience is mellow, and the hotel is not as loud or party-hearty as other properties in Playa d’en Bossa.
Decor is modern and trendy throughout, with lots of black-and-white contrasts, metallic colors, a few pops of purple, and strategically placed color LED lights. The lobby -- with silver pillars, purple couches, and wood walls -- sets a stylish mood, and though the hotel is overall hip, there seems to be little “posing” here.

The hotel is located between a boulevard lined with bars and shops selling beach gear, and sandy Playa d’en Bossa, known as the longest beach in Ibiza. There are a supermarket and a few fast-food joints within walking distance, but guests will have to take a bus or drive to Ibiza to find more varied dining choices. The area’s main draw is its close proximity to some of the island’s most famous clubs, including Bora Bora, Ushuaia, and Space, which are all within a five-minute walk. There is a bus stop right next to the hotel, and the town of Ibiza is within a 10-minute drive north. The Ibiza Airport can be reached in about five minutes by car or taxi.

The 298 rooms at Hotel Garbi Ibiza & Spa are spacious and light, with large windows opening onto balconies furnished with a table and two chairs and offering at least partial sea views. Decor is contemporary and sleek, consisting of all-white furniture with minimalist lines, pale wood-like floors, and dark-gray accent walls behind the bed. Recessed mood lighting in pink and purple, along with wooden nightstands, adds some color and style.
Room categories include Standard, Superior, and Suites, all outfitted with a good range of amenities, including LCD TVs with satellite channels, mini-fridges, air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Safes can be rented for a daily fee. Standard units and suites can sleep up to three guests (the third person gets a sofa bed), while Superior Rooms are for two guests only, as they only have a double bed. These units offer better sea views than Standard units. Suites have separate living areas with access to the terrace.
Bathrooms are clean and modern, equipped with large walk-in rainfall showers, single sinks over long counters, and big mirrors. Those in Superior rooms and suites have frosted-glass doors and walls, while bathrooms in Standard units have proper doors. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided in all rooms.

Hotel Garbi Ibiza & Spa is located right on a lovely, sandy beach popular with locals and visitors alike. Loungers and umbrellas can be rented for a daily fee that’s rather reasonable compared to other properties in the area. Towels are available for a refundable fee. The property also features a medium-sized pool with lots of loungers and umbrellas, along with a kids' pool and a whirlpool. A handful of cabanas that can be rented for a daily fee offer additional privacy. With a poolside lounge and DJ sessions several times per week, the main pool deck is a hip spot to hang out under the sun. Purple and fuchsia lighting gives the spa -- which has a whirlpool, a Turkish bath, and treatment cabins -- a swanky, trendy feel.
There are several dining and drinking options here, including a good international buffet-style restaurant open for breakfast and dinner; a beach club serving Mediterranean cuisine, and a stylish bar offering poolside drinks and coffee until late. Note that all-inclusive packages are no longer available, but breakfast-only and half-board rates can be booked.
The fitness center is small but features up-to-date cardio and strength-training machines, alongside free weights. The clay tennis court can be booked free of charge, and equipment can be borrowed. There is a meeting room and a business center with computer stations. Free Wi-Fi and free parking are also available.
