The upper-middle-range Ebano Select Apartments & Spa offers 82 one-bedroom apartments located in the quieter end of Playa d'en Bossa, though still within easy walking distance of its buzzing nightlife. Renovated in 2015, units are clean-lined and contemporary, with simple cooking facilities, living and dining areas, and balconies or terraces. Five upgraded apartments also have direct access to a separate private pool. The main pool is a pleasant place to hang out, and food and drink can be ordered from the restaurant to the poolside terrace or direct to guests' lounge chairs. However, the hotel does see a few loud groups and road-facing rooms can be noisy. A comparable option around the same price is the Ibiza Sun Apartments a block away, which has more of a party vibe but smaller pool.
Scene
Adult-only apartment complex with young and stylish vibe
Positioned at the far end of a long, whitewashed, low-rise block and marked by a small water feature, the entrance to Ebano Select Apartments & Spa is understated though stylish, setting a vibe that continues throughout the property. Stepping inside, the reception area is simple and modern, finished in wood, natural stone, and marble and dotted with traditional ceramics. Hallways are well-maintained and elevators provide access to all three floors.
The U-shaped property encloses and overlooks tidy grounds mostly comprising wood decking surrounding a freeform swimming pool, though there are also a few worn lawns and mature olive and palm trees. Being an adult-only hotel with a younger vibe means clientele sit mostly in the under-40s bracket, and most are British groups and couples. While it's a tad removed from the buzzing nightlife, some groups at the hotel can be rambunctious.
Location
In a quiet neighborhood, a short stroll from Playa d'en Bossa beach and nightlife
The hotel is located in a relatively peaceful area of Ibiza's Playa d'en Bossa neighborhood, a little away from the bustle of the main strip but also within easy walking distance of the world-renowned nightlife and dining. Bora Bora beach club is a five-minute walk away, and Space dance club is just a little bit farther down the same street. Playa d’en Bossa’s beach -- which is one of the longest on Ibiza -- is just a few blocks from the property, a five-minute walk away, while Ushuaia and Hard Rock Hotel (both famous nightlife hotspots) are each 15 minutes on foot or five minutes by car. The airport can be reached in about seven minutes by car, and Ibiza Town is a 10-minute drive away.
Rooms
Streamlined, contemporary apartments with simple cooking facilities
The 82 apartments sleep up to four and are finished in fresh contemporary styling with minimalist furnishings, parquet floors, and whitewashed walls with exposed concrete and a couple splashes of color. The spartan decor and lack of artwork may seem a bit too sterile to some. Streamlined and uncluttered layouts include dining and lounge areas, plus kitchenettes with electric hobs, mini-fridges, and cookware. There are flat-screen TVs in living and bedroom areas (with some British channels), as well as integrated Bluetooth speaker systems.
Gray-slate bathrooms are up-to-date with modern fixtures, walk-in rainfall showers, wall-mounted hairdryers, and toiletries. Sliding doors open to furnished balconies or terraces, some overlooking the pool and others the road. Road-facing apartments can also be prone to noise from late-night returning revelers. Five rooms have direct access to an exclusive private swimming pool.
Features
Lovely swimming pool with plentiful lounge chairs, restaurant, and game room
The hotel has few facilities, but its crowning feature is a freeform, mosaic-lined pool that's relaxing and quiet (i.e., none of the background music typical to Ibiza resorts) with plenty of lounge chairs and an alfresco terrace. There's also a small fitness room with modern exercise equipment but no free weights. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
The basement restaurant serves three options for breakfast, one continental and two cooked, until late (not included in the standard rate). It is also open for lunch and dinner offering a menu of pizza, pasta, and salads, as well as various snacks and drinks that can be delivered poolside.
