Scene
Contemporary chain hotel with a dated style and family-friendly policies
From the outside, the Holiday Inn Express Pigeon Forge/Dollywood has the typical boxy style of most properties of the Holiday Inn chain, though there is a lovely little pond in the front. Similarly, inside, the hotel is a bit boring and dated in terms of style. The lobby combines with the breakfast room and the overall decor is fairly generic with tiled floors, furniture in tones of greens, blues, and browns, and plain cream walls. The indoor pool and hot tub area, and the breakfast room is a popular gathering for the hotel’s main clientele of families and couples. Families are drawn here via perks like kids under 19 stay free with their parents.

Rooms
Tired rooms come with flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffeemakers, microwaves, and mini-fridges
The rooms inside this Holiday Inn Express are a bit dated and tired compared to others. Think: worn tan carpet, green, yellow, and red curtains, plaid armchairs, and a mix of wooden furniture. There’s often a single chain-like art piece on the wall. Amenities are better and include flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, Keurig coffeemakers, microwaves, and mini-fridges. Bathrooms are contemporary, though basic, with shower/tub combos, toiletries, and wall-mounted hairdryers. Some upper-level rooms have separate jetted tubs and showers.
