Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket

 Wyndham Sea Pearl Villas Resort has a modern two-story glass facade with a huge porte cochere that's unusually set with tables and chairs on top. Guests pass a pretty koi pond as they enter the spacious lobby. Inside, there's a wooden platform and bubbling water fountain. Clusters of dark wicker couches and armchairs are centered around wooden coffee tables. Steep steps lead down the hillside to the rooms and public areas. The grounds are lush and green with palm trees, native plants, and manicured hedges. Hallways leading to the rooms are a bit dark. Most guests are international couples; there isn't much for families to do here apart from the sophisticated pool and tiny kids' club. 

The Wyndham Sea Pearl Villas Resort is located in inland Phuket and not near the water, so don't let the name lead you to believe this is a seaside property. It's actually built at the top of a steep and dangerous road that makes for pretty views over Patong City, but a hazard for walking. There's a free hourly shuttle to Patong (though it ends in the early evening) and parking at the resort is free. Expect a 40-minute drive to the airport. 

There are 188 room options at Sea Pearl Villas Resort, divided into categories of guest rooms, suites, and villas. Most of the suites and villas have private outdoor pools and/or hot tubs, while all of the rooms have private and furnished outdoor spaces. The Deluxe Jacuzzi room has laminate wood floors, white walls, and abstract art hanging on the walls. The real highlight of this room type is the furnished balcony with a small hot tub and views of the city of Patong. The smallish bathroom has a rainhead shower and single sink. Upgrade to a Pool Access Suite for more space, a soaking bathtub, and private access to a swimming pool shared with the neighbors. Air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, minibars, flat-screen TVs, and beach towels come standard. Past guests have reported sometimes yellow water in the whirlpools and minor maintenance issues. 

The features at the Wyndham Sea Pearl Villas Resort focus mostly on resting and relaxing. A rectangular shaped, infinity-edge pool is decorated with water fountains shaped like vases. The wooden pool deck is set with sun loungers and umbrellas. Palm trees and trimmed green hedges add privacy and ambiance. Additional Terrace Pools are scattered throughout the property. These are long and narrow; some have waterfall features. Carissa Spa is nicely designed with large windows overlooking private gardens. Quality Dermalogica products are incorporated into treatments. A couples treatment room includes double massage beds and an in-room bathtub large enough for two. There's a modern fitness center with cardio equipment set with individual screens and strength-training equipment. Spotty Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.A small kids' center has toys and books in an indoor setting. Honeymooners have reported fresh flowers and special treats left in their rooms during turndown service. Staff can arrange assistance with tours and there are limo services and a helipad on-site. Meeting rooms are available as well. 

Mook Talay serves international dishes in an indoor contemporary dining room set with wooden chairs and white tablecloth topped tables. There's a large wine list for guests to peruse. Blue Waters is a more casual option for fresh seafood and cocktails on an outdoor terrace. Views of the sunset are excellent from this vantage point. Alfafa Pool Bar serves cocktails and light bites at an outdoor bar and terrace next to the main pool. There's a satellite TV here for sports addicts.
