have private pools and outdoor hot tubs. However, the resort can feel isolated -- especially for guests without cars -- as there's not much to do in the immediate area beyond going to the beach.

The Moevenpick Resort Bangtao Beach Phuket
is a small, private-feeling condo resort that's a good bet for families with children. It's located at a considerable distance from the seedier areas of Phuket
and Patong, and families have access to the quiet white-sand Bangtao Beach and the
peaceful grounds, which never feel crowded. The architecture and decor are
understated and calm, in cream stucco and dark wood with cool pointed red-tile
roofs that add a picturesque Thai aura to the property. There are fresh tropical
flowers everywhere, and orchids garnish fruit baskets and soap dishes. The
artwork and sculptures found in the common areas and rooms are Thai, and
the menu in the on-site restaurant features authentic local cuisine. This is not the
flashiest resort, but there are plenty of on-site activities, and the food
is delicious and plentiful.

guests can visit local temples and quality restaurants. Bangtao Beach is a two-minute walk from the hotel and there are excellent golf courses within a five-minute drive of the gate. Patong Beach and the Phuket Big Buddha are both
20 minutes by car, as are the Phuket FantaSea Theme Park, the Jungceylon
Shopping Mall, and Patong’s nightlife scene. The Moevenpick offers free parking,
and a rental car is recommended as there's not a whole lot within walking distance. The Phuket Airport is a 20-minute drive away.

has Classic Rooms in the main building by the lobby along with a variety of one-, two-, or three-bedroom Suites, Residences, and Penthouses.
The decor is airy and modern, with a subdued color scheme and lots of wood shutters and
comfortable furniture. All the lodgings are enormous, and all but the Classic Rooms have full kitchens with stoves,
microwaves, dishwashers, fridges, toasters, and plenty of glasses, utensils,
and cookware. Every room comes with a balcony and has either garden or lagoon views; some also have private pools. Amenities common to all room types include flat-screen TVs with Bose surround sound, safes, and free toiletries. Bathrooms are luxurious, with striking freestanding tubs (some jetted), and modern glass vessel sinks.
