Intimate and welcoming, the entrance and lobby of this property are decorated in warm shades of burgundy and gold and have dark wooden furnishings. A small front desk is located in the center of the lobby, and gold-edged mirrors and large oil paintings add light and color to the space. Coffee and tea are set up on a little table near the door, and there's a shelf showcasing souvenirs and gifts that are available for purchase. Penn’s View Hotel is located on a lovely one-way street by the water and is close to Independence National Historical Park, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the Betsy Ross House. A number of restaurants, shops, bars, and activities are nearby, as is the antique district and several art and history museums. Travelers who prefer not to walk can use the nearby subway or buses, and taxis are plentiful in this area. While the streets are beautiful and safe, the hotel's close proximity to the I-95 can make some rooms and common areas noisy.

A number of styles and room types are available, from more traditional Standards to larger Premium Rooms, as well as a Family Suite and a Meeting Suites. Every room includes free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, a desk, a TV, and air-conditioning. Standard rooms are the smallest available, but include beautiful traditional wooden furnishings, warm rugs, and a comfortable leather armchair, while Premium Rooms are more spacious and offer a fireplace and a patio or balcony.
